Just what the White Sox need right now...public funds use/tax protests at Sox Fest and Opening Day.

It would be kind of fitting if nobody significant is added to the roster between now and then.

Protests over the scoreboard? You can't seriously think that is even a possibility.

I know some people are angry about the direction that this offseason went but as someone who goes to a ton of games, these boards are going to be awesome

The boards really were no big deal to me, but I admit, I am excited to see these in action. The Soldier Field boards are really nice, and a huge upgrade. The boards they had before were like watching standard def on a high def TV with it all stretched out. One problem with the Soldier Field boards, the ads still took up most of the board space most of the time, but when they took them down for a reply it was fantastic.

That said, I don't think the boards will attract anyone to the game. It will enhance the game experience.

I was joking.

I doubt there will even be anything too controversial about the state of the roster...some meathead fans will ask questions in the wrong tone and get embarrassed.

Did you go to Wrigley at all last year?

Okay. The jumbotron there is absurd. And the White Sox one os bigger than that one.

What is interesting is where these things are going to go. I believe at the time the White Sox installed the video board in CF in 2003, it was one of the biggest in the league. There is probably a decent chance in 10 years some will be complaining about the boards being installed now.

The entire outfield wall will be a video board that will light up between innings.

Paid for by the hotel tax. I doubt "you" paid for the boards

2 of them are done, and the big one will be done in the middle of March, almost a month before the season starts.

It was said last month that the big one would be done by mid-February, then it changed to mid-March. The delay can't be a good sign

Anyone know if this is going to be done by next Friday? I saw a crane still working on it the other day.

I was at a season ticketholder event last nigh at the ChiSox Bar and Grill. They were definitely testing the CF scoreboard. I think its done. The pinwheels had Sox emblems and the sticks the pinwheels are attached where lit up with the colors the pinwheels normally are. It was pretty cool. I also won $20 in Comiskey cash and an autographed Johnny Danks photo last night. Cocktails, food, free crap, all free. Season tickets even a tiny plan like I have now has big benefits.
