The Beast
I think Buehrle is a Cardinal this year if he plays at all.
sammy esposito
QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jan 30, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) I think Buehrle is a Cardinal this year if he plays at all. I always thought that he could be a member of the sox team after his pitching days end. Maybe as our pitching coach.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 06:47 PM) Soooo no follow up to this? Doesn't seem so. If there was it would have been during the opening ceremonies. Blame Levine. Edited January 31, 2016 by Buehrle>Wood
greg775
His is a weird story. After being so durable all those years, does his arm hurt badly? Is it falling off so to speak?? He was great at the start of last season and pretty effective until the end when he basically stopped pitching. If his arm isn't a mess Sox should sign him for 2 million plus a few incentives. Even though we're stock full of lefties it certainly wouldn't hurt to give him a chance considering all the hacks we've used as our fifth starter in recent years. Jose Abreu
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 06:50 AM) Levine mentioned a soxfest surprise with him. Sounds like it'll be him retiring thought not anything to do with the active roster. Well, this didn't happen. Why did we trust Levine? Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 06:51 AM) Well, this didn't happen. Why did we trust Levine? He excused it away this AM. He said instead the surprise was Thomas being back on the business side of things...lol Guessing he heard a former star was gonna be brought back so he went and reported about Buehrle. cabiness42
I cannot imagine Mark Buehrle staying in anything resembling pitching shape if he's not going through ST. Was Mark ever really in anything resembling pitching shape???? We're talking about a position where CC Sabathia was once an ace and Bartolo Colon is still good. Dick Allen
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) Was Mark ever really in anything resembling pitching shape???? We're talking about a position where CC Sabathia was once an ace and Bartolo Colon is still good. It is not necessarily his weight, these guys are on programs including shoulder and leg work. I actually was at a seminar Allen Thomas was talking about it. They start up November 15.
shysocks
Posting this strictly because it's hilarious. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman 4h4 hours ago Mark Buehrle, who turned down chances, isn't quite ready to announce retirement. But he isn't throwing, recently bought an RV
southsider2k5
I am sure plenty of teams were willing to bring him in. Good luck to Mark no matter what he does. He is one of my all time favorite players.

Whisox05
Kinda was hoping the Sox would bring him back for last go at it. Hopefully if he retires the Sox bring him back for a one day contract so he can retires with them.
