BlackSox13
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) Would the Braves trade Markakis and some $$ for Danks? I think the Braves might do it straight up but I don't know if they would be willing to send money. I would love to have Markakis' bat in the #2 spot but the stuff I've been reading lately has been saying he's now better suited for LF due to his decreasing range and arm strength. lasttriptotulsa
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) They better find someone else on offense, as they currently have no platoon partner for LaRoche. Shuck and Sanchez both hit lefties better than righties. When a lefty is pitching those will be the games to get Sanchez and/or Shuck in the lineup and you can DH one of Lawrie, Avi or Frazier to give them a day off from playing the field. LDF
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) I could see the Sox going with a 6 man rotation early on to keep Sale/Q/Rodon fresh for a potential postseason run. i think the idea for yrs was to keep the early season rotation with a 4 man rotation then increase. i also remember some saying in aug, the dog days of summer, the bring up a 6th man to stretch the rotation. i can see the 6 man being use, esp if the sox are doing well, more like in aug and maybe sept. ChiSoxFanMike
I could actually see the Braves being interested in a deal for Danks. Chances are that he'd be better in the NL from a performance standpoint, and then they could flip him at the deadline for more prospects to help their rebuild. Princess Dye
Not discussed tons, but can we trade for Bruce AND sign Ajax....and then just bench LaRoche or have him compete for the DH job? Bruce as DH actually would be another hole elimination (and he could fit into the OF mix if needed) Edited February 17, 2016 by Jose Paniagua

bmags
If Fowler truly is going for 2/20, I relaly would like us to pay that and give up our comp pick.

IMO, it would have been done by now if it was that price and Sox were truly ok giving up their comp pick. My guess is he'll get more AND Sox don't want to give up comp pick. SoxSteve
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) I would rather play Avi than Markakis. Have to disagree on that one. Markaikas is a much better fielder seeing he did win the gold glove in 2014 i believe. His defense has slipped but would be the best left or right fielder on this team by far. Plus the 377 OBP would be great in the 2 hole. He knows how to handle the bat very well. Who cares about his lack of homers but he can probably hit 8-12 in this ballpark but if he hit 3 and batted what he did last year it would be a big boost for us. And he did hit 38 doubles last year. Ive been on the Markaikas band wagon for months now. . Love to have him on the field and in clubhouse.
fathom
Fun stat, steamer projects Markakis to be worse defensively than Avi in 2016. Markakis has horrible defensive WAR ratings throughout his career.
Dick Allen
I've been chanting patience as much as anyone, but if Fowler signs for 2 years $20 million with Baltimore, and Hahn doesn't have something else up his sleeve, I will be more than a little perplexed. Harry Chappas
If the White Sox are looking at a two year window. The draft pick should not be of a concern nor should the name Spencer Adams. If the KW plan was bulls*** the pick is huge as it gives them draft pool money to spend and not necessarily on that selected player.

I've tried to stay patient through out this process but it's becoming increasingly hard to swallow the thought of them not making another move. I have a feeling the Fowler deal is going to piss some fans off if/when he signs with Baltimore. I get the "being on a budget" thing to a certain extent but I thought for sure that the Frazier move was them signaling they would do more than this...
