Chisoxfn
I haven't seen heartless play persay. I've seen teh team fail to execute cotinuosly over the season. Its not this game that will lose the season for the Sox, it wil be the countless games that they should of won that they didn't. The games where they failed to knock the man in with less then 2 outs and a runner on 3rd. The games where they failed to close out with HUGE leads. The games that they got handed to them by Detroit. These are not games that could of went either way. These are games the Sox should of freaking owned, but they own half assed play and poor coaching (The lack of stressing the fundementals and the lack of a constant lineup) led to them. With that said, it ain't over till the fat lady sings.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Others have said this first, but good pitching beats us. Especially someone with a changeup. As for the heart, you've got to exempt Carlos Lee from that.
Capn12
At what point do we as Sox fans quit using "no heart" as an excuse for poor play, and start actually seeing that its the lack of simple execution, plain and simple, that the Sox are suffering from. Oh bulls***. yes we can blame JM for some of it, but look at THIS game. BIGGEST game of the year. How is your beloved team playing? Scared? Weak? Pathetic? Im not sure ANYONE can motivate this bunch of losers.

Yeah, it was fun against the Royals, but now all we do is pop out. The reason good pitching and a lot of times bad pitching beats us is because we can't manufacture runs. Does JM tell them to go up there and swing for the fences? No i think i remeber him telling frank that he SHOULDNT. You guys b**** about JM pitching ELo. Has anyone considered that his belly ache might just be NERVES. Have you ever noticed in big games, we cant play defense? JM f***ing SUCKS, I will admit, but these fuciking players are being paid BIG f***ING money to perform in BIG games like this. I dont give a f*** if he has a belly ache or not, nor should JM. Capn12
I've only seen bigger load of crap than that in my toilet....boo hoo, the team isn't motivated...boo hoo, they have no heart. You think these guys have to be f***ing told by their manager how much this series means? They aren't a bunch of deaf-mutes for Christs Sake!! As far as I know, they can ll read the paper, they know what the standings look like. Why does everyone lay it at the managers feet every time things go wrong? Poor execution with runners on, was JM supposed to go hold Franks hand in the first inning so he'd know his manager was supporting him? At what point do some of you realize that the manager, yes he has f***ed up alot this year, and shoulda already been fired, but every little thing that goes wrong, from wild pitches to HRs given up to GIDPs, can't be laid at the managers feet. Lets hold some of the players who are the ones PLAYING the game responsible for their actions, because they didn't EXECUTE, not because they weren't Motivated...f*** that, the whole team is motivated, they know whats on the line here. Guest hotsoxchick1
he may be the one who tells them not to swing for the fences, but he sure as hell is the one who should be working with them to get the small ball down pat for games in this f***in hell hole.......and he is the one who made a sick guy go out and pitch when he damn well shouldnt have been on the mound in the first place...... Capn12
BMR, judging by your posts, we are fighting the same side here....I'm saying it is the players...not sure, maybe we are just used to arguing against each other.

I still hope Frank kicks ass the rest of the way and then leaves the Sox and gets a multi year deal elsewhere. I'd much rather have a damn good shortstop then Frank Thomas. sox-r-us
One positive until now is that with the performance by Scho, we have not completely burnt out our bullpen. We may need some of the bullpen tomorrow with Jon on. Bartolo of course will not need much. Which is why Bart rocks, for those who continue to berate him. I still think we can come back and win this one, especially after scho's shutting them out effort

Agreed, but ignoring the other side of things isnt going to help our cause. These players are losers, with or without JM. If it were up to me, FT could hit 60 meaningless homers a year. HES A F-U-C-K-I-N_G L-O-S-E_R when playing in a big game.
Dick Allen
Gene LaMont was fired because the players weren't ready to play. And that was after winning the division twice, and Schueler getting off the golf course long enough to sign Sabo and Kruk. Why such a long leash with this bozo?
