I don't think it makes any difference. He skips a year of wear and tear of the NFL and is just a year older for FA. Not playing for San Diego is probably worth that

Unless he gets picked 3rd again, his rookie contract will most likely be smaller. That doesn't matter for the mighty Bosa tycoons though.

The funny thing with this offset language argument is that so rarely matters anyway, especially with the 3rd overall pick.

Since he was effectively the #1 pick (disregarding over-reach QB desperate teams) I can't see him dropping a ton. As long as he's top 7ish it's probably worth it (assuming he doesn't end up rolling with Cleveland or something)

Could he just go up to Canada and play a year?

CFL salaries are a fraction of what they are in the NFL. The biggest stars in the game might get 250k a year, also the CFL regular season is half over right now (it starts in June).

It's not that the CFL isn't popular in Canada (it is), they don't have the massive TV deals the NFL has.

I don't mean for the money. I mean as both leverage, and a chance to play while flipping the Chargers the bird.

I just don't see much leverage Bosa can get by playing in Canada. The Chargers don't want to pay him a certain amount, and he is gonna go play for less in Canada. And if he gets hurt, he does nothing but lower his earning power.

That and it isn't like he's fooling anyone in the NFL like he's going to stay there or something. This isn't the USFL where they can offer him money on par with NFL teams.

Aaand Freeman hurts himself celebrating a nice play. Looked like he got an assist from a teammate.

He's back on field.

Would like a long Kevin white TD so I can stop watching

Gonna be a long season.

It seems that trading all of our pro bowl offensive talent and replacing them with fourth round picks and UDFAs wasn't was foolproof as I had imagined in May .

It's the preseason. Relax

Games 1, 2 and 4 yes I agree..............Game 3 should be way better than this with starters going 3 quarters.
