Which of those arguments do you disagree with? People should still go to every game and give that family more money for a poor product? People should continue to pretend like Ditka and the 85 Bears were the recent past? They shouldn't blow the entire franchise up and start from square one? I mean, to some extent they are on this road already, I realize that. I'm saying pick up the pace and really blow it up. There's no reason to have Jeffrey on the roster. It's a valuable chip. Get something for him before it's too late.

They ARE blowing this franchise up. You just have zero patience for pretty much anything and for some reason want to start blowing it up again. The roster inherited from Trestman needed to be purged, and we are watching it happen.

What was your predicition this season? Does 0-2 really surprise you or anyone else here b****ing about this game?

This isn't baseball where you can trade players for prospects. No one is gonna give you a valuable young player. You can get a draft pick for him, but there's no guarantee at all he's a better player than Jeffery. And with all the moves they have made, there is plenty of cash to sign him to a longer deal.

What? Meathead Bears fans are the ones who hate Cutler more than anything else because he doesn't get mad or yell.

Semantics I guess. I"m referring to blind Bears fans who support the franchise without a fault, pretending like Ditka and 85 were two seasons ago.

I have a very hard time finding anyone who supports this franchise without fault. People who celebrate Ditka/85 usually have a LOT of problems with the McCaskeys, the current product, and pretty much anything that is current NFL product

Exactly. Jeffery is worthless in the NFL trade market. NFL just doesn't work that way.

The Bears have the money to lock up Jeffrey long term. If they end up drafting a QB next year, it sure would make that QB's transition easier if he has Jeffrey around.

I suppose, but how does that advance the ball at all? They have so many positions to fill. Wouldn't it be better to fill multiple spots of need instead of having one decent WR whose presence isn't going to change the fact that this team isn't winning anytime soon?

It's not just that they're 0-2, it's how they're losing. The offense is atrocious. The defense is not good. They're WAY behind where I thought they would be, even if they weren't expected to win many games this year.

I'd imagine he could get them something like a 2nd and a 6th or a couple of 4ths. Multiple, decent draft picks. If not, fine, i'm wrong. But if that's possible, do it.

Assuming the Bears draft a QB next year, the most important thing for that QB is to advance and become an above average QB in the NFL. That's the most important thing for the franchise going forward. If you draft Watson and surround him with Langford, Royal, and White, he's way more likely to fail than if you surround him with an actual above average NFL weapon in Jeffrey. Put the future of your franchise in a position to succeed. Don't make it easier for him to fail.

There's a lot wrong with this roster, but it's already in the middle of a rebuild. You don't get rid of all above average players to make the rebuild longer. You take the pieces that are already in place, and supplement that through the draft and FA. Plus, there's plenty of money for Jeffrey.

This franchise is at least 3 years away from being actually competitive. The defense improved by adding Freeman and Tevathan without breaking the bank. They still need to completely overhaul the secondary - which is awful - and they need to find a pass rush. If Floyd and Bullard are good, that helps things significantly on the defensive side of the ball. And they need the line to pass protect better. Sitton and Long should be fine. Whitehair is a rookie. The tackles need to be upgraded badly.

The point here is simple - you don't wave a magic wand and become a contender. This is a process, and a complete overhaul from the end of the Trestman era. You don't short circuit the rebuild by letting your best offensive weapon walk - particularly if you are planning to bring along a rookie QB.

Jeffery cannot be traded while he's on the franchise tag. They should still re-sign Jeffery. Letting 26 year old #1 WRs walk out the door is bad business.

Did you honestly look at the Bears' secondary and think it was ready to stop NFL offenses?

I thought the Bears looked ok in Week 1, and fine until the wheels fell off for Cutler in the second half of Week 2. This offseason, they shored up the worst set of linebackers in the NFL and added two potentially really good pieces to the d-line.

Injuries have hurt this year. Goldman looked really good, and hopefully that injury isn't serious. They can't afford McPhee to be hurt constantly. They need Fuller to make a leap to being a respectable corner, but he's hurt so no progress on that front. Honestly, I think the defense has looked better than I expected it to look.

I just can't believe people actually believe Cutler is the only problem on this team. Check out Facebook threads or talk to people about the Bears. They say they hate Cutler and want him cut, traded or benched but offer no solutions for the QB position. Furthermore, they don't comment on how the defense is the one that gives up third and fourth down conversions as well as TDs at will. As a team, the Bears just collectively suck - you can't blame Cutler for everything or even insist he's the main problem. Call me an apologist but I really don't agree that he's the main issue on the team.

That and some of the worst offensive lines in recent history.

Meh.. more-so the coordinators I'll buy. Aaron Rodgers has had some bad offensive lines himself over the years (in fact he was sacked the most in a couple of those years) and he's been fine.

Bears ILB Danny Trevathan sprained a thumb. It will require surgery. Not season-ending.

Fox: Bears QB Jay Cutler sprained his right thumb.

Does Trevathan throw a ball?

This. Fox has a history of developing talent. Look at all the defensive talent he developed in Denver. This is a new front office and coaching staff and they inhereted a real mess. I would hope that next year, we start to see the arrow move upwards (albeit slowly), but I think this team was so decimated (especially in the sense that it had so few young, home grown players whose arrows were pointed up), that it meant the rebuild was going to be a much longer process then usual (we tried to be mediocre for so long, that it put us in a spot where we forced mediocrity through veterans and that means you don't get the picks to get the top talent, and then we whiffed on later round talent under Emery / Trestman) so we really were in an awful spot.

The defensive coaching staff is pretty damn proven so they have a track record to trust, however, offensively, I think there are real questions with Loggains. I do think that stability in general is a good thing and when you look at the better franchises they seem to be more patient in general vs. less and wonder if that actually leads to some of the success (vs. just the underlying individuals running the ship). I.e., look at the Browns, restructuring every 2-3 years essentially means you never are able to see a strategy through and thus it is almost impossible to successfully rebuild.

The 8.3 overnight rating for Eagles-Bears is ESPN's lowest "MNF" Week 2 figure in a while. At least 2009. Eagles-Colts did a 9.3 in 2015

I am usually pretty forgiving when it comes to Cutler's play, but that INT was ridiculous. He didn't even attempt to set his feet. That said, I can't believe a guy like McPhee thinks it's ok to get in his face afterward. He's not exactly earning his paychecks right now.

Bears suck. Sox suck. I seriously wonder why I even care.
