Bmr31
Does he? You may want to look into his career playoff BA and other similar situations. Hes a loser. That's what people said about Barry Bonds, and they were right. Look what he did last year. FT is no Barry Bonds. Who knows. Barry was older than Frank is now when he came into his own. WHo knows? Well I do. BB works a HELL of a lot more than FT and BB has a HELL of a lot more confidence than FT. BB is a once in a lifetime player. Bmr31
Bingo. I'm 16, I take it now. Why? Frank Thomas deserves it. Does he? You may want to look into his career playoff BA and other similar situations. Hes a loser. He's a loser? Was he a loser when he won the MVP award? Was he a loser when he was the highlight of all those Sox down seasons? He battled back from injury, he never quit. Granted, he still isn't the Frank Thomas of old, and I honestly don't expect him to be the Frank Thomas of the old again. How many times has Frank been in the postseason? Definately not enough to deem him a loser. Frank has done too much for this city. Then what does the city do to him? They call him a loser. We have such GREAT citizens Franlk Thomas chokes in EVERY big situation. Look it up. How about that game winning home run against Minnesota? How about that game winning home run against Anaheim? Chokes in every big situation? Not quite. LOL you call those big situations? THose are mid season games with NO pressure.
Bighurt52235
Franlk Thomas chokes in EVERY big situation. Look it up. Not enough to capatilize the word "every". He did hit those two walk offs, but for the most part, you're right, he rarely comes up with a huge hit. Also, that one in the finale against Cleveland two weekends ago was nice, but overall, a poor homestand.

He battled back from injury. He NEVER quit. He worked and worked to get his swing back. You think those huge muscles came from just sitting there watching Bonds work? Thomas is a hard worker, and a devoted player.
IlliniBob72
Until this season, I always felt that I'd rather have myself at the plate in a clutch situation than Frank Thomas, but this season he finally got some huge hits. Too bad he hasn't gotten more seemingly little ones along with them.
Bmr31
You watch. As soon as it looks as if the sox are out of it, he will heat up. ITs almost a guarantee. He has the talent, but hes not a winner.
Bighurt52235
well his numbers for the month when we need him most to produce have been lets say "leaving much to be desired".......where the hell are the aluminum bats in bp???.. we need those back i think.......it seems to be the only way he can slug them out....... The Sox got a letter from the league saying that those were not allowed. I'm just answering in case you or anyone else doesn't know.

Jesus Christ, I honestly do not see why you guys hate him so much. Hate Jose Valentin, he has the average to go along with his crap. But Frank was E-f***ING-LEET (ELITE) FOR YEARS Has a FEW f***ing bad years due to INJURY, and he's a loser. That's just great.

Because you are wrong in saying "every". I do agree though, there are alot of times that he fails in big situations.
Wise Master Buehrle
Hes a loser cuz he chokes in every big situation. Why do i need to repeat myself? Oh please, Frank came through with PLENTY of big hits in his prime. Any team would have killed to have him on their team. Frank has worked SO hard for the Chicago White Sox, and Reinsdorf knows this. This is why he won't let him go. These past few years, he HAS failed in the clutch. What about the 2000 season when he CARRIED THE TEAM? They would have gone nowhere without him. Frank deserves a World Series ring. Enough said. Bmr, I respect you as a poster, but sometimes your views are so blindly thought out that it's pathetic. I guess the League didn't have a problem with ShamME using corked bats to put on a show for invisible fans at Wrigley Field though :fyou the local and national media for not exposing ShamME as the fraud that he is when they had the chance. sat46
If in your whole life, you would get 1 and only one World Series title, would you use it up this year, when we all desperately want it, or would you save it until your older, when you can appreciate it more? At 16, I don't think that I'd use it up right now, which would only entail a lifetime of failures. I'm reverse you age, 61. I say get it now. DonkeyKongerko
I'll take it now, just so we don't have to add to our pathetic almost 90 years without a championship. To win one now would give this team some f***ing bragging rights in the city of Chicago since the Cubs won't ever win one again. (Knock on wood, I don't want the Cubs to win one just cuz I said that).

Grebeck Fan Club
Screw waiting. I want it now. Comparing Frank Thomas to Barry Bonds is moronic. Bonds is an all-timer. Thomas is a borderline HOFer. That being said, the Thomas-bashing is excessive. Name one player who hits in the clutch EVERY SINGLE TIME. Go ahead, I'm waiting. At 16, I don't think that I'd use it up right now, which would only entail a lifetime of failures. These fantasy questions may seem more real at 16 than at my advanced age but I would say, never. If it were only to happen once, why have it and then have nothing ever to look forward to again but guarenteed failure? The way it is now, I always have hope each spring. I'd rather live with hope, knowing that it may never happen, then live with certainly that it will never happen again. And if I chose to have it, say, this year, would honor and intregrity compel me to immediately kill myself so that I wouldn't live a long time thus keeping it from happening again in my long life rather than die to allow it to happen in someone else's lifetime? IlliniKrush
I'm 19. If they win it now, should i pay attention to the Sox the rest of my life? What would be the point? They aren't going to win anything, correct? I don't know if i'd appreciate it more or less at this point then when i'm like 10 years older...i really don't know...but i'd say i'd appreciate it as much now as i would in the future, that's just my guess though. Maybe if i was older and had season tickets and was at every single home game it'd be more meaningful. But any championship after i turned probly like 16 and became a true sports fan, not just like "i hope the sox win", i'd say any championship at any year after that would be quite rewarding. I have no idea if what i said makes sense.
