Balta1701
@CST_soxvan Chris Sale's first Cactus Lge start won't be till March 19, Don Cooper said. Showed last spring doesn't need 6 spring starts. What the deuce? He had a 5.32 ERA in April last year. Are they that worried about his arm? That high ERA was due to them trying to have him throw fewer sliders
Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) That high ERA was due to them trying to have him throw fewer sliders I know, and my guess at the time was that he was throwing almost 0 sliders because his arm wasn't there. I don't think him not being ready was the problem.
Chisoxfn
Doesn't mean he isn't pitching in B games or to our minor leaguers.

He will be throwing getting the arm in shape with less stress. They probably want to get Johnson, Latos and Danks into a competition against teams. ChiSoxFanMike
I have no issue with this either. He seems to get fatigued during the dog days of summer, so maybe giving him less innings in the spring would help with that. It's a big if, but it is ESSENTIAL to have Sale healthy and dominant if they stay in the hunt during September and October. Without him, the Sox have no chance. iWiN4PreP
As long as Sale is healthy, I am great with this!
Jerksticks
What a wonderful idea! I love how smart our pitching coaches are. Try as I might, I've never been able to argue with anything they've ever said or done
bmags
I thought it was because he broke something. I trust them to keep him healthy.

flavum
As long as he makes his 34th start after October 2nd, whatever it takes.
