Dunt
I'm never afraid to pound KW for the dumb s*** he says and does, but he is completely in the right here. In fact, I've gained a new level of respect for him because of this.
Big Hurtin
I wouldn't be happy with a coworker bringing their kid in every damn day. I don't know why that's so unbelievable. No one wants to be known as THAT GUY, though.

Black_Jack29
If anything, they (Ventura/Hahn/Kenny) waited too long to put a stop to this, IMO. I never would've let LaRoche's kid become a permanent member of the clubhouse with his own stall.
flavum
Good timing for the off day tomorrow. Take a beat. Game is almost over, so maybe we'll get some Ventura quotes.

Jose Abreu
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) And there it is: Julie DiCaro @JulieDiCaro 2m2 minutes ago Source tells @MattAbbatacola that several players went to KW complaining about LaRoche. So that explains the timing. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) Then there's this: "His teammates rose to his defense and challenged Williams in a heated clubhouse meeting, according to multiple sources" http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/adam-la...going-on-031616 Still confused as to which is true, or more true. In fact, I've gained a new level of respect for him because of this. as many have said, kw was the perfect one, the one who could take the bullet for the org. i also agree that someone other player, not management who came to the management to asked that this be done. the sox are in the right, a nice way to get from under his 13 mil contract. i just hope he, laroche does not chg his mind and not retire. Some players were on LaRoche side; some want the kid gone Nobody is going to come out and say they were part of the complaining to management. The point is if a few don't like it then he should tone it down. Sign the kid up for little league and let him make some friends.
Buehrle>Wood
Talk about some pressure on the kid too. Your dad just threw away 14 million and you're at the center of the controversy. That said if my dad told me to go away for a few days and he'd make 50 grand, I'm pretty sure I'd understand by age 14. chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Talk about some pressure on the kid too. You're dad just threw away 14 million and you're at the center of the controversy. Why is the kid not hanging out with his peers anyways? LaRoche just seems like a nut imo. There's a reason you hear all the time "I retired to spend more time with my family". A MLB clubhouse, at home or on the road, is not a place for your kids. greg775
I'm gonna comment first, then read all your comments so to not let them influence me. Yes I despised LaRoche perhaps more than any other player in Sox history. But now, after reading Kenny Williams wouldn't let him bring his son to the clubhouse every day, I have changed my tune. I would gladly see LaRoche hit .150 with 80 percent strikeouts if it meant bringing him back to stick it up Kenny's backside so to speak. What a chicken s*** thing to do to LaRoche. Players bring their kids all the time to clubhouses. Very sad. Wonder if this will hurt the Sox in the future trying to sign guys. Again, I thought LaRoche was a pathetic hitter and I even despised his beard, but after reading this? Let him come back and bleep you, Kenny. BlackSox13
The Sox FO did the right thing and it sounds as though they did their best to handle the situation with respect to LaRoche and his son. We're talking about a locker room full of athelete's and not all are married with kids. Guys like to talk about guy stuff and what better place than a teams locker room? I would get annoyed as all hell if I had to constantly watch my language and the content ( alcohol/women/etc.) of discussions with my fellow players. Guys will be guys, especially the guys that are still young and not married. I respect LaRoche for being a great father but he has to understand that time away from family goes with the territory of being a major league ball player. Dick Allen
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 06:40 PM) Not every f***ing day. It was every day this spring. It isn't every day during the season. He plays on 2 baseball teams. One in Kansas and one in Chicago. According to Dan Hayes, he is there more than most. He also said he is the most behaved kid he has ever met. He said a lot of the White Sox will genuinely miss him. I wonder when JR will have Gar tell DRose to give the father/son time at the UC a rest. Edited March 16, 2016 by Dick Allen
