Tired arm/building up innings/maybe throwing more fastballs/maybe working on the changeup/who knows. All plausible. he stayed in the game and threw 95 pitches. His job is to be on point for 100 pitches in 2 starts.

Avila was never gonna stay healthy all season. He looks about ten years older than he is.
