Nate Jones to close occasionally

Jose Abreu

If Jones is purportedly The guy who can get the big strike out and get out of jams, then the seventh or the eighth is the right place for him. The back up closer just needs to be in the pitcher most likely to not give up a run starting off with a clean inning. I'm not sure that's Jones.

We don't even know if Jones is going to be effective yet. He hasn't had that much pitching since his injury to tell

No surprise. Nate certainly isn't going to take many opportunities unless Robertson completely collapses, what with David being the highest paid closer in baseball.

Higher than Kimbrel?

Nate has to get a heck of a lot sharper before he's considered for a closer role.

He was terrible last night, hitting two batters and giving up a couple of runs in less than an inning.

It was one game... He pitched very well the night before.

It always seemed like his release point affects his command but he's usually good. I always thought he had a weird release

He throws like a javelin thrower. But then again, I am guessing that odd release point is part of what makes him hard to hit.
