Some very anti-LaRoche people here.

What did he do wrong? He made a personal decision that he's made enough money doing his job and wanted to retire if it wasn't going the way he planned.

Don't get why it's any skin off our nose. He prepared, worked hard and did what was asked of him.

Seems like an overall great guy who cares about the integrity of a person. World would probably be better with more people like him.

So what he didn't hit a little white ball very well for us. He's not making any stink about this. Guarantee if this was 1990 when this happened there would be one newspaper article about it in the Sun-Times and Trib and be done. Media driven right now.

There would be a lot more people who like to discriminate against gay people and kill animals for fun that's for sure.

To give a non-sarcastic response, it's not that we dislike him for his lack of performance last year, it's that we dislike him for dragging this whole situation out, making a big deal about it, promoting anti-Sox articles, and basically just trying to make the organization look bad.

Deer would be nearly extinct if everyone was like Adam LaRoche.

I was ready to give LaRoche a fresh start this year coming out of ST. Sure he sucked last year, but I don't think him hitting .275 with 30 homers would have made us a playoff team or anything. So he wasn't the only reason we failed. If anything, the projections all had him going in for a rebound year.

Then the whole Drake LaRoche thing happened.

To be honest the 1,000 people who are following his meat company on Twitter are searching out that negative news. Also who really knows who's running that Twitter handle. It's probably a family member or friend.

Him trashing the organization? Where?

This franchise threatening to move, getting a stadium that is funded thru tax payers, etc. is a whole lot worse than Adam LaRoche saying anything.

It's really a stretch to throw him under the bus and to me, is bad taste. There are a whole lot of MLB players with less integrity. I'd rather have had a guy who want his son around than a guy cheating on his wife.

Honest question- where does it say anything about discriminating against gay people?

I think he's generalizing by how close he is with the Duck Dynasty fellas who are huge biggots.

He trashed the organization by saying the organization made me choose, and I pick my son over all of my teammates."

The big point in the story is the he says KW asked him to dial back the kid's presence and he said no. He then states that KW told him that his son wasn't allowed at all. KW insisted that there was no comment that he wasn't allowed. You can believe who you want but considering others children have been allowed into the clubhouse since the incident, I'll go with KW's side.

If that is the case Adam lied about the situation to make the organization look bad.

The best part of the article is where he goes "I totally get it, nobody wants this to turn into a daycare" and then in the same breath "but Drake is the exception".

Ok then.

KW admitted he told him zero access, then backed off.

I saw in the one article that he told him to dial it back and then the next day he came out and Drake was on the mound doing drills and he lost it and cut it off entirely.

Yes. The White Sox let him have his "Religious Freedom" night or whatever the hell it was last year hosted at US Cellular by a bigot. He's a weirdo. I'm glad he's gone.

The part where LaRoche said if this was a problem, just let me know and I will change it, gets left out too. He was asked to change, and completely ignored it, thus forcing this into a national story instead of nothing.

Right, he backed off. Adam either forgot that KW backed off or intentionally omits it.

After telling the team he would dial it back if anyone had an issue with it.

This ESPN article brings the hilarity on multiple levels. I love this though:

LaRoche wasn't interested in knowing Drake's grades at all, just how he treated classmates and teachers. He then goes on to say "I tell everybody we weren't smart enough for anything else," Adam says. "For the LaRoches, it was baseball or nothin'." Too f***ing funny. Good f***ing riddance.

lol the classic "I'm not smart so my kids are stupid too" line of thought. Great parenting...
