chw42
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Saladino needs to play until he proves he's not good. I kinda think he might be good. He showed a lot of what he has to offer last year. He might be a league average SS in the end, mostly due to his defense. I don't think he's a good enough hitter though. bmags
I think at the very least I'm happy that witH Saladino we have a player that can truly play 3 positions well and we feel comfortable can put together an at bat.

Boopa1219
The Sox are dead last in walks with 28 (prior to today's game). The Cubs are first with 70.

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) No. It is an out, reached on fielders choice. yea but it raises your OBP. Just like getting a hit but getting thrown out going to second raises your AVG but not your OBP. wait, is it really a fielder's choice on a dropped 3rd strike? Huh. Thought for sure it was just an error. Edited April 20, 2016 by chitownsportsfan

Really? If you are thrown out stretching a single it raises your OBP? And I was right on the dropped 3rd strike, it's an error. I kinda think he might be good. I don't recall Saladino hitting all that well in the minors, so my guess is that he'll be stuck in the utility role. That said, he's very good in that role and would be valuable to any team.

OBP is simply (H+BB+HBP)/(AB+SF+BB+HBP)
