It ain't over

While I'm not the most optimistic person with regards to our current situation...it isn't over. One of the hardest things to do is win games when you are suppose to win games. It's hard to get up for the last place team and you can be sure the Twins will be feeling the pressure of that. They know they have to get this thing done against the Tigers or they will be the laughing stock. You can also be sure Detroit want's to end their season on a good note...

Of course this all means s*** if the sox can't turn it around and get some hits...but I'm not so sure I'm ready to write em off yet!! :headbang :headbang :headbang

Have you even watched a sox game lately. DO you have any clue what a mentally weak, and beaten team looks like? Are you capable of utilizing your brain and looking past the current standings? People just amaze me. This team has been DONE since the Home Boston series.

I consider myself an extreme optimist...but there is no way in hell that we're going to win the division.

I tried to convince myself after the first game that we would battle back, but in reality I knew we were done after that pathetic first game.

Here's to 2004 :cheers

Ahhhh, the home boston series -- two more games that should have been wins.

lost 2-1 on the Colon two hitter

and then the extra inning game with the two Ortiz homers when Rowand was thrown out at third and Willie Harris was allowed to hit and ..... enough bad memories.

I think this team officially died on the Anaheim/Texas trip in which it was fortunate to win 1 game against two dreadful teams. Totally packed it in in Arlington.

Once the downward spiral begins, this team has nobody to pull it out of the slide.

Leadership, tenacity, clutch performers, patience, consistency -- all of the above.

Time to blow this group up and start over. Facts are facts == The Twins have kicked our ass for three straight years.

Hard to argue that statement.

Get out the dynamite.

No no... you build your team around Carlos and Magglio...

And things will start happening...

f*** Lee. I don't give a s*** what his numbers are. Almost any major leaguer with half a brain could hit 30 homers and drive in 100 runs if they swung for the fences every pitch.

You build around Magglio offensively. Resign Alomar. And, in all reality, those are the only two people I want to see back on the White Sox next year who aren't already under contract.....on offense.

And f***ing do whatever it takes to get Colon back here. I don't give a s*** that he f***ed up tonight....it would be hard not to f*** up against a team that is rolling on all cylinders. I would like nothing more then having a new manager coming into town with a 1-2-3 of Loaiza, Buehrle, and Colon.

f*** Lee?????? f*** LEE???? WHAT! THE MAN IS THE ONLY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM THAT GIVES A s***.... HE HUSTLES ON EVERY PLAY, LEADS THE TEAM IN RBI'S, RUNS, STOLEN BASES, AND HAS A .295 AVERAGE... HOW DO YOU HAVE A .295 AVERAGE AND LEAD THE TEAM IN RUNS IF YOUR JUST SWINGING FOR THE FENCES EVERY TIME??? THE MAN MAY HAVE HIS PROBLEMS WITH GOOD READS IN THE OUTFIELD, BUT AT LEAST NOW HE MAKES UP FOR IT BY MAKING GREAT PLAYS TO SAVE HIS OWN ASS....

Go SOX... + #45!

If he hustles on every play, he wouldn't have 19 or 20 GIDPs.

I figured one of the "better" hitters on the team would not have grounded into a DP with runners on the corners and 1 out in the 5th inning. I figured that he would atleast have hit a sac fly.

The stats don't lie....but they don't tell the whole story either.

Oh, it's over....it's ALL over.........it's all f***ING over............

All that's left to do is shovel dirt and say last rites............

No way IN HELL the Twins gack against the Tiggers and Injuns.

The Sox have MUCH more of a chance to mail it in against the Royos and Spankees.

The 2003 season has come to its unavoidable conclusion - the best BASEBALL TEAM in the division will win the division, and THAT is as it should be.

Sox don't like it? Then they better learn how to play fundamental baseball and DO something about it, instead of complaining how THEY have the better talent and "it's gonna all come together real soon". "Real soon" became "too late" tonight.

And PLEASE spare me the "mathematiclly eliminated" argument.

A lot of things COULD happen, but they won't.

I didn't want to accept it, but it's true - this season has come to an end.

You may process your claim to return your playoff tickets now.

Nonetheless our team was competitive and played well at times, but not enough to beat their division nemesis the twins when it mattered the most.

If we built around Lee and Ordonez, we'd be done for.

Bad things would happen.
