iWiN4PreP
Come on yall, that's not a bad comment, he's justifiably upset that his team isn't hitting like it should. If the Sox got shut out twice in a row, and were in the midst of a really terrible start, I'd want players to show emotion like that in a respectful way. Take a step back . OmarComing25
We're now not only ahead of them in the standings, but in runs per game as well. They've also been one of the worst teams in the league with RISP this year, so hopefully this is a sign that their sequencing voodoo magic BS of the past two years is over. BFirebird
What an impressive start. As much as I love going to the games with less people because everything is easier....I hope the next game I go to in May I have to actually sit in my real seats in LF instead of closer to home plate. This team deserves some big crowds when they come back to town next week.

Then I can finally stop hearing my friends that became Royals fans last year saying "Well, stats don't like the Royals and the Royals won, so you shouldn't pay attention to stats." The Royals have truly baffled me offensively the last few years. I don't understand how their approach continued to produce runs......and their rotation never impressed me. Hopefully it is catching up with them. Honestly, Cleveland worries me more than KC. That starting staff can be just as good, if not better than the Sox. Sox bullpen is probably better, but CLE also COULD score more runs than the Sox.
caulfield12
"I think they are legitimate and will be contenders all year." - @JimBowden_ESPN on White Sox pic.twitter.com/QVMQnBYGmG With Brantley back, Cleveland's dangerous again. Now, if they can only figure out what to do with Trevor Bauer...as long as they have Tomlin and Cody Anderson in that rotation, it's suspect on the back end, and Kluber still hasn't quite found that magic touch he had in 2014. And Gomes will take at least one-half season to get back his timing from missing most of last year due to injury.

southsider2k5
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:30 PM) I'd have fired gibbons the second the game ended. He left him in for like 3 innings after Estrada started showing discomfort then compounded it by extending him for the longest outing of his career. One of the worst cases of manager negligence I can remember. Pretty much all media covering the game were talking about it in the 4th inning, it was pretty clear Estrada was injured. You don't f*** around with shoulders, that's how you end careers. Yeah, that was pretty amazing. I don't know that I have ever seen anything like it before. Typically the FIRST time the pitcher acts funny at all, in an injured sort of way, both the manager and trainer RUN out there.

You don't f*** around with shoulders, that's how you end careers. It's not even like it was a playoff game or anything, it's a relatively meaningless game in April. All I know is that I'd be PISSED at Gibbons if I was a Blue Jays fan. Why would you leave one of your best pitchers in for that long in April if they're showing signs of injury? It makes no sense. Southwest Sider
Not to justify what Gibbons did, and i do think hes stupid, but Estrada was dominating the sox up until the 7th. He seemed to get better after the injury too. I still would have yanked him, but with how bad their bullpen is... i can see why Gibbons left him out there. Still it is too risky to potentially hurt a pitcher for a game in april.
Dick Allen
We don't know what the injury is, and I am sure the Toronto training staff signed off on letting him stay in the game. Kind of hard to blame the manager. He wasn't throwing very hard last night. Is that where he is at normally? He was 87-89 most of the night. caulfield12
He's normally around 89 to 90 MPH for his fastball. Farmer and DJ mentioned he was having issues in the dugout as early as the 3rd or 4th inning. Guess he also dealt with back problems in the spring. At any rate, his fastball velocity being on a downward trend the last 2-3 seasons has been noted by quite a few scouts. “I put the ball exactly where I wanted it and he (Navarro) put a good swing on it,” said an atypically sour Estrada after the game. The 32-year-old right-hander was seen favouring his shoulder in between innings and he conceded after the game it “didn’t feel very good” but refused to elaborate. toronto star Edited April 28, 2016 by caulfield12
shysocks
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) Put this on the bulletin board Q That was Donaldson letting it fly post game. feels good man, for once it's the Sox leaving other teams second guessing themselves and reeling. They need to shore up their sign-stealing technique.

Lip Man 1
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:20 PM) Isn't that the team that had Ken Berry and Tommy Crawford lead the Sox in batting average with .247 ? It was Berry and Don Buford at .241 if I remember correctly. Mark
