fathom
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 1, 2016 -> 04:14 AM) Seriously. Is there anyone on the planet who was like "Adam Eaton could be one of the best rf'ers in the game" His arm has improved an insane amount the last three weeks as he gets healthier
Jake
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) Seriously. Is there anyone on the planet who was like "Adam Eaton could be one of the best rf'ers in the game" I mean, when we signed Jackson it wasn't even 100% clear which corner he would play. I'd say management picked the right one.
flavum
Should they seriously consider keeping Carlos Sanchez and send down Saladino?
Princess Dye
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 09:52 PM) Adam Eaton is very good a baseball and I'm glad he plays for the White Sox. im glad he annoyed everyone in AZ
Lip Man 1
Ugly, ugly game but at least the Sox got the win. To bad Albers had his streak snapped because Jose couldn't catch the damn baseball...at least he made up for it in the 9th inning. Defense has been bad the past few games, has looked like 2015. Maybe it's because of the raw weather conditions. Needs to tighten back up. Glad Robertson returns tomorrow, bullpen has been shaky the past few days. See if Sale can get the split tomorrow, considering everything that would be great. Oh you wonder when its all said and done if the Sox should have signed Alvarez on the cheap. Hah, now we are taking the Saladino HOF bust and taping Sanchez's face over it but in all seriousness--- dont know if sanchez is a SS. Seems like he is more just a 2b/3b type

Princess Dye
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:40 PM) Outside of Petricka, the bullpen has been fine. i do not loathe Duke. Tonight that was one horrific moment but I have some faith there. In an ideal world he moves down to the Jennings role of course and we trade for a special player

Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:32 PM) Should they seriously consider keeping Carlos Sanchez and send down Saladino? A true platoon with Rollins and Sanchez could be beastly offensively at SS. Defense another issue. If they trust his arm I'd love to see it. In an ideal world he moves down to the Jennings role of course and we trade for a special player Zach Duke was one of the best relievers in baseball coming into tonight and made one very, very bad pitch. If you're b****ing about him you're grasping at straws.
greg775
Nice inning by Nate. He was pretty nasty IMO. Those home runs were bombs. Geez. Frazier has 17 RBIs in April. That is pretty damn good. Looks like Sox hit the jackpot on this FA signing from the NL. Seven homers. Beautiful. Abreu, Eaton, lots of great at bats. Lawrie's home run was a blast. Watch the replay of it. When he hits one he hits one. Nice to stop the bleeding vs the O's. Just think, if Sale is Sale, we may go 2-2 in Baltimore. Pretty nice this time of year when the O's were red hot at home. thxfrthmmrs
Great win tonight and with Sale going tomorrow, everything looks to be going up. But then mother nature has to rain on everyone's party, like literally... With 100% chance of precipitation tomorrow, Sox might as well fly back in town tonight and prepare for the game vs. Red Sox on Tuesday. flavum
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 11:00 PM) Great win tonight and with Sale going tomorrow, everything looks to be going up. But then mother nature has to rain on everyone's party, like literally... With 100% chance of precipitation tomorrow, Sox might as well fly back in town tonight and prepare for the game vs. Red Sox on Tuesday. They're playing tomorrow. It's not going to be an all day rain thing like here today. What we have to worry about are rain delays. And in the event of a rainout, both teams are off Monday and the Orioles are in the middle of a homestand, so they would play Monday almost certainly. BigHurt3515
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) Let's be honest. Never post bad s*** in the game thread until it's over. This team doesn't roll over like before. Hopefully Abreu is warming up. I think we should do the opposite. It is working quite well

OmarComing25
Coming back to tie the game against a dominant reliever like O'Day was huge. And I still think Duke will be fine.
soxforlife05
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) I feel like this needs its own thread so I can just gush unabashedly but if Eaton keeps this up the Sox are going to get like a bajillion dollars in excess value out of that contract. Strangely they have a ton of great players locked up on team friendly deals like Abreu, Sale, Quintana, Eaton and in spite of that they're too cheap or stubborn to get rid of overpaid non-performers. soxforlife05
Why is Duke still being asked to get high leverage outs? I would've left Albers in to face Davis he's our best reliever to this point.
Boopa1219
Just got done with the game and wow, I love this team. I had to apologize to my girlfriend for waking her up because I literally jumped out of bed when Frazier went yard. It was great to see the guys in the lineup battle back and pick each other up. Abreu is surely getting out of his sump, the power will come. How valuable is Nate Jones to the team? He's your set up man, fireman and backup closer. I know they have Sale going tomorrow, but it has to be a must win game going into the off day. A win tomorrow would have to do a lot for the team's confidence because based on how the series started, to comeback and split with Baltimore would be huge. And I have never rooted for the Mariners more in my entire life.

I think the overpaid non-performers you're talking about were signed by the previous regime. And the Sox aren't known to be ones who eat contracts. Kyyle23
The Sox have eaten a few contracts in their time. Keppinger one of the recent contracts
