Just wish they would expand Jennings role a bit. Duke is gonna lead the league in appearances at this rate.

Me too but he's not exactly a lefty specialist, he's had years with more success can righties

I think that's the point. Jennings has reverse splits-ish. Why leave Duke in vs righties when you got Jennings who has been phenomenal vs both as of late.

Are any of you guys going to see a Sox game in person in the near future?

I might go on Saturday, not 100% sure yet.

Friday

He's consulting with KW over the big board list right now, as we speak.

Speaking of vices, though, one would have thought the "traditional Hahn" would have been in less of a hurry to dump John Danks when there was no clear-cut solution waiting in the wings.

The White Sox were still in first place by more games than at any point since mid-June, 2008.

Literally anyone with at least 1 arm was a solution

You must be 100% sure.

If everyone gets three fans to promise to come to the ballpark, and they get three fans each (9/27/81/243)...it won't be long before the "pay it forward" multiplier effect results in a string of 30,000 crowds.

Fwiw, Merkin just reiterated that Fulmer isn't part of the rotation plan for this season.

Because he's a pitcher that's also successful vs righties? Because he is used for full innings after Robin initially eased him in? He's better against lefties but not by a lot, if you remember way back to last year or the year before that he was a set up man.

Benetti sucks.

I actually enjoyed listening to Hawk's uber emotional, often angry broadcasts for the two decades that I've watched Sox baseball. Benetti's discussion of DRS and other advanced stats that I can just as easily read about is boring to me. I just find myself tuning out all of the noise.

Also, Rodon seems very average thus far. Not exciting at all. I'm stoked to see the Sox in Arlington next week, but I hope that my calculation that he's on the mound is wrong. Especially with Danks gone.

I think Bennetti is OK. I worship Hawk but give Bennetti a chance. He is not annoying me at all. And because Stoney doesn't have to worry about Hawk being in a bad mood, the two work together very well IMO.

p.s. Three hits won't cut it in a home game.

I think the Sands thing has kind of run its course. He had a few big hits I guess.

Ya, that experiment needs to die ASAP

In Texas next Tuesday. The BP in Arlington is about six miles from my house.

Don't know if I wanna watch the ninth. Not worried long term, but the bats have not shown up today. Which is a bummer, because Clay Buchholz could reasonably lose his job to John Danks.

Don't attack me; I'm only being half serious. But everybody says we need lefty reliever(s). Ask Danks to go to Charlotte for a week and a half to get used to being a reliever?? He has experience and a decent resume when healthy.

They did ask Danks to go to Charlotte. He declined.

I mean after a few days have settled? Once the emotions are out of the equation. Ask him again? Or I guess he knows the offer was there and could call Hahn if interested.

Uh if we remember "way back" to last year, then you should remember righties destroying him. They put up a .OPS last year, 200 points higher than him vs lefties.

ESPN glorifying the cheater Ortiz tonight and all of the season the way they are is beyond nauseating.

Yeah, his universal belovedness has been confusing to me for a long time now.

In double the at bats I.e. he is not exclusively our LOOGY and it wasn't giving up putting him in. We've used him for full innings the last two weeks.

Roll him up with the other cheater Manny and throw 'em in the trash with Bonds, Sosa, McGuire and all of the other cheatin' bums.
