Bigsoxhurt35
@philrogers FanGraphs now has Adam Eaton at +13 defensive runs saved. Next best in majors: Brandon Crawford, Nolan Arenado at +7 each. AJax has been an unsung hero for this team. Allowing Eaton to shift to right and become great.
chw42
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 4, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) @philrogers FanGraphs now has Adam Eaton at +13 defensive runs saved. Next best in majors: Brandon Crawford, Nolan Arenado at +7 each. AJax has been an unsung hero for this team. Allowing Eaton to shift to right and become great. Only problem is that his defense in center has been subpar, according to DRS and UZR.
OmarComing25
Our offense is now 13th in the MLB in BB%, that's a big turnaround from the first few weeks (3rd behind Giants and Cubs the last two weeks at 11.7%).

Eminor3rd
QUOTE (shysocks @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) They only have like 5 games' worth of a sample, but the Red Sox are last in the AL against LHP by a wide margin. Link In other words we shoulda given Danks that start. Ahh but how do they rank vs. a pitching machine? Because Dnaks is closer to that than a typical LHP at this point Edited May 4, 2016 by Eminor3rd

Not sure what I've been missing as AJax hasn't had any issues according to the eye test subjected by yours truly. Any idea why the metrics aren't high on him? Buehrle>Wood
His arm is dreadfully bad but his range has looked pretty good from the eye test. They do have him playing very far in compared to what I'm used to for our CFers, but it seems fine. Edited May 4, 2016 by Buehrle>Wood
OmarComing25
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 4, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) How does his stats this year compare to Eaton's defense last year? Arms are about on par, but UZR says Jackson is showing far poorer range than Eaton last year. Really hard to extrapolate or read too much into such a small sample with UZR though, too early to really say. He rated really well in range last year. From the eye test, I don't think he's been as bad as UZR or DRS say, but he's definitely had a few misplays out there.

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Good news for us. That pitch he hit out last night was shades of Paul Konerko circa 2004-2009. Great piece of hitting. Only trumped by the insane trick Jose did on his double. That ball was six inches off the plate inside and Jose ripped it down the line.
