If I know anything about Chris Sale it's that he'll do whatever hell he wants to do and it won't really matter whether or not it's a good decision. His "emotional judgement" doesn't seem to be the strongest.

He won't make it out of the first inning. Let's just hope the ump warns him only. I can't believe the Twinks immediately retaliated tonight. That means the new unwritten rulebook in baseball is "retaliate immediately" when your guy gets hit. 10-4 lead I doubt Nate drilled the guy on purpose. If he did, that was dumb. You don't awaken a sleeping dog.

Nate's didn't look intentional in the slightest, nor did the situation call for it. The fact that Abreu was so angry, to me, is additional evidence that Nate's was an accident -- he's been drilled in retaliation before, and he's always very calmly taken his base. I've NEVER seen him angry like that about anything at all.

We all like to imagine Abreu as a mindless destroyer of everything spherical but this is the first good Sox team he's played for. Stakes are high, guys are amped... you're gonna see them be a lot fiestier.

Great point! And since ours wasn't on purpose and theirs was, the Sox still owe them one. Sale is emotional so look for one to come whizzing in the first inning. Wish it didn't have to be that way. Maybe the umps will warn both teams before the game starts. That would be a way to stop it. I mean if both teams get warned and Sale drills a Twin, that's just stupid. If teams aren't warned, he'll drill one IMO.

The Twins' hitter (think it was Nunez) was in shock/disbelief at that one...maybe they're just used to Sano messing up every play in RF these days that they assume a ball like that has to be a double or triple off the bat.
Sweet to see such awesome defense tonight, especially in the outfield.

These were the kind of insane defensive plays the Twins used to pull on the Sox a decade ago when they owned us.

I hope you're right about that! I'm just afraid that the Twins will tee off on him like they did last year.

It was in the Indians before the Twins. Sale will be fine and own them tomorrow.
