They're gona start pitching Avi different on the first pitch soon I'd guess because he's crushing everything. Keep an eye on that

Maybe that's his new approach...see first ball hit first ball hard.

Sox are better off asking the Rays about Odorizzi or even the Padres about Pomeranz (risky risky, NL + PETCO) than going after Gray. Too many red flags.

Gray reminds me a lot of Rich Harden. Look how that turned out.

He's always swung at the first pitch though. To start the year it was all low off speed and he wasn't close. He's gotten some fastballs and has been crushing them although his double tonight was a breaking ball I think.

That's the thing - the metrics say Avi's production isn't fluky. His swing is different, he takes more pitchers, his batted ball profile is different and the results are obviously, different. He can always fall back into his ways but this is starting to get interesting.

The thing is he started to get hot, then had the minor injury and has come back hot still. That's a very good sign considering that could've been a built in excuse. "Well he was starting to hit then got hurt and is now slumping."

coming in his BABIB was .298. Everything in his profile is different and better, including his OZone% is at a career low. He's also swinging at less in the zone, so overall he's choosing to seeing more pitches.
