He's intense. In person, he's like a general or military leader...always in charge.

But he's gone through cancer, a crazy minor league career in which he fought just to get one hit in the big leagues off Dan Petry (Dish)...he's just really standup and admirable.

I knew back in 1995 he was going to be a big league manager someday, surprised it took him 20 years (and it required the revolution of "pitch frame" and "infield shifting" with the Pirates/Hurdle to get some attention and job interviews.)

His favorite restaurant is Hooters in Augusta, lol. But a great family man...cool wife, has got it all.

How do you know so much about him?

Scott K arrol

Dude is what he is. Can use him as a rubber arm. Tonight it'd be nice to get something useful out of him (AS IM TYPING THIS HE STRUCK HIM OUT MOTHERf***ERS) to get some outs in a low to medium leverage situation.

Are you sure you pay attention to the Sox ? Check the bullpen usage in the last 2 box scores , especially last nights extra inning game

eh, not saying it was the right move but the bullpen isn't so taxed that you have to go to the long man in the 7th with two outs. That said, they have a four run lead and Scott got the out, so good job I guess.

It's a decent situation to pitch the last man in your pen when the rest of your bullpen has been busy. He'll be back out for the eighth and it's alright.

Shades of Justin Verlander and Bartolo Colon, lol...

Getting stronger as the game goes on. He has that physical build. Typically the scouts described him as a "horse."

Javy Guerra and Hector Santiago taking it on the chin for the Angels against STL tonight.

Gee, sorry I asked a simple question.

Nice triple by Jimmy and Abreu with the deep fly out and RBI.

Rollins up to .247...Austin Jackson at .243

Nice to see those batting averages bounce back up. We can live with the catchers not hitting as long as they do a good job behind the plate, take some timely walks and occasionally flash some power like Navarro has done recently.
