Jacque Jones

Does Anyone understand why COLON didn't plunk Jones when he came back up after he took that curtain call.

I mean he took a curtain call in a 4-2 game in the THIRD!!!! THIRD INNING!!!! 6 more innings to be played. I mean I thought this team was deflated, but that was HUMILIATING. Not the outcome, but the lack of PRIDE. We were in a pennant race you can't let your opponent show you up like that, Especially after Dustin Mohr's comments last week.

Any self respecting manager would have odered his pitcher to bean that guy the next time he was at the dish. One more reason JM has seen his last season on the south side.

I didn't understand why he threw him umpteen fastballs, especially after Jones hammered that one fastball early in the game. Then the 2nd at bat he gets him on two and goes with one more and bam.

I like Jacque Jones though and hell, I even like Mientk and Pierz. If they were Sox we'd love them. They are scrappy guys that can piss you off and do everything good. Its that all around "good" that makes the Twins a good team. The Sox have that great offense, but they aren't all around good. And that offense is "one" dimensional.

Agreed.

We need some scrappy guys on the Sox who just get the job done.

Forget the 40 hr's Thomas has, he couldn't get a clutch hit to save his life.

However, in the right spot, every player on the Twins can come up big.

This season, the only player I can say I'm actually pleased with is Carlos Lee.

Thought he played hard all season and improved dramatically.

Everyone else was far from exceptional, especially Magglio, who is one of my favorite players, but he didn't come up with a damn thing in the Twins series.

Thomas is the definition of cluth for us this year. Granted this series, when we needed him most, he didnt show up.

But there's three instances where he single handily won the game for us: July 2 against the twins, game against Angels where his 2 2 run HRs were the total offense, and most recently against Clev. when he hit a go ahead 3 run home run. Im sure there's been others.

And don't forget the corpseball days of summer when the sox were in the midst of interleague games. When playing 1B in the series against LA, Arizona, Padres he was coming through for the Sox.

I do agree with you that all these homeruns dont mean s*** if you cant come through in the most important series of the year. I dont understand how frank can hit a handful of groundballs this whole year, and this series hit 2 or 3. Little too late to be changing his approach to the game.......

The only thing the Sox can play for is pride, and even that would require winning 9/10 remaining games.
