Robin is not as stubborn as some in MLB, though at times it doesnt seem that way. Edited May 20, 2016 by Jose Paniagua

Robin is not as stubborn as some in MLB, though at times it doesnt seem that way. In 32 AB Rollins is hitting .452/.500/.710 with 2 HR against Gee. He really should be in the lineup over Saladino. I like it and we'll see how it goes tonight. Honestly it just makes sense. Eaton getting stranded after that leadoff triple is a perfect example of why it's pointless to waste an out in the two-hole. As good as he is at getting to scoring position on his own, let's just maximize the at bats with our best hitters after him.

He really should be in the lineup over Saladino. I don't mind it. Putting the best defense possible behind Q against the slap hitting contact oriented Royals isn't a bad idea. RV has showed me more tactical smarts this year then I think the previous four combined. Still pissed about putting on that bunt sign the other week and a few other questionable moves, but at least occasionally he's doing smart stuff. I like getting three of my best hitters up in the first right away.

Bunting has been the one thing that ills me especially where we've had a few times where we've picked up the bunt and then got a base hit. I really feel like considering our base running it's better to accept that bunting is not dangerous except by eaton.
Boopa1219
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 20, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Eaton Abreu Frazier Cabrera Lawrie Garcia Avila Jackson Saladino This is a different lineup. I like it and we'll see how it goes tonight. I've been championing having Abreu be in the two hole for the longest f***ing time. Hopefully this is permanent. To optimize the lineup even more Robin needs to switch Melky and Frazier, because in an optimized lineup the cleanup spot is the second most important spot in a lineup (after the two hitter) because it's where you put your best power hitter and you want your three hitter to be someone who makes consistent contact. This lineup just made Eaton better, it puts Abreu in a position to succeed and he'll be getting more PAs because of this. In the word(s) of Rick Flair: WOO I'm Daniel Bryan pumped. SoCalSox
I dislike the Royals almost as much as I dislike the Packers & Lions. Taking this series would be great.
southsider2k5
Abreu hasn't exactly been the king of productive ABs lately. I wonder if this is Robin trying to change his. Ideally, Melky came here to be the #2 hitter, I would have tried him there next.

ChiliIrishHammock24
10 years ago today I was at the Sox/Cubs game with the AJ/Barrett fight. Tonight, I will be back again for my 4th game this year. Not really, gets him more PA and also lets him bat without Rollins or Jackson making an automatic out after Eaton gets on.

caulfield12
It's the old Abreu will get more fastballs hitting 2nd argument...more pitches to hit with Eaton on base making the opposing pitcher a bit nervous. Hopefully it jump starts his motor/muscle memory. Most annoying fans in baseball: 1) Yankees 2) Red Sox 3) Cubs 4) Cardinals Then there's a big fall off to anyone else. You don't often see people getting TOO upset by Angels, Dodgers or Mets' fans, even though those teams have relatively large fanbases, too. The Giants (and their fans)...well, they hate the Dodgers, but they're not necessarily an organization that people hate or detest on a national level.
