Baron
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) Is anyone really excited about the Bears this year? Uh yes? In Football it doesnt take you long to rebuild. The depth on that team especially on defense right now is 10 times better than last year.
pettie4sox
Welp, glad I didn't witness that game. Is the team slumping or is this indicative of their true abilities?

caulfield12
QUOTE (Baron @ May 21, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) You dont blow the front office apart now. You see what they do during the deadline. You fire Robin and elevate Anderson for now. See what that does. You acquire players during the deadline. See if that helps. If none of that works then you fire the front office and begin the rebuild. But they should explore all those other avenues first. Saladino's doing just fine. The biggest problem isn't SS or even the 5th starter at the moment, or the bullpen. It's Jose Abreu, first and foremost. Without him being at least his 2015 version, forget about it. Then you have a long list...Jackson, Lawrie, Avi Garcia, the catchers. I think Hahn actually should be fired if they push Tim Anderson up before he's ready to try to "save" this season. Not with that walk rate.

fathom
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 21, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) I'm sure I'm overreacting but this team will flirt with .500 and they CAN'T afford to stand pat like last season. If Abreu is bad and they have only 2 reliable starters, this team has no prayer of staying at .

caulfield12
I blame this loss on the curse of the // // // in the opening post. Looks too weird. Bad omen. Lip Man 1
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Is anyone really excited about the Bears this year? What else are you going to watch to pass the time? White Sox baseball? If so, you my friend must be a masochist. Seven runs in the past four games. Nice. Royals will sweep the s*** out of them tomorrow. Mark

Then you'll probably want to watch some other team them because odds are you aren't going to see it on the South Side (although I still have hope then can win 82 games and have a "winning season" to crow abaout.) greg775
I know I'm repeating myself but for emphasis ... -- These Mental midgets quit after Robin put Carroll in the Texas game with five run lead. You just can't come back from a loss like that when you have mental midgets. The leaders who attacked the LaRoche situation with zeal are sitting back as we lose game after game. Wasn't Lawrie 0-fer-20 before the hit today? Sale was apparently unwilling to turn over a food spread or kick some ass internally like Paulie always also failed to do. Team turned into a pathetic team after the Carroll/Robin choke vs. Texas. No retaliation for Lawrie getting hit in his first at bat of the series?? Obviously was sent to send a message. Message delivered. SWEEP. -- The Central Division advance scouts (ESPECIALLY KC's) know the Sox so well it's so easy for the Royals and their collection of mediocre pitchers to mow down the White Sox. Remember last year's season series would have been even worse had the Sox not beaten KC in five of the last six meaningless meetings. We stand no chance against Ace Ventura so this homestand has been just plain pathetic. Our advance scouts must be the worst in the division. -- Our hitting philosophy has been bad since the last two years of Walker. And we no longer hit home runs. Lack of power in the Cell means we're gonna be a bad home team again. WOW. Edited May 21, 2016 by greg775
greg775
Why even keep stats at spring training? They are so f***ing misleading. Didn't Rollins hit four home runs, smash a bash of extra base hits and hit about .320? Did Abreu crush 4-5 homers? Nobody ever looks at pitchers ST stats. Please, baseball statiticians, stop keeping stats in spring training!
