Al Lopez Ghost (old)
After Minnesota won the first two games of this series, why didn't Gardenhire push Lohse back to Friday and use an ineffective prospect for game 3? After all, they had won the series already. Also, why does Gardenhire play his regulars so much? Don't they have some 5 homer, 17 RBI, .224 hitting bench warmer to put in there? Gardenhire is head and shoulders above Manuel in the manager Dept. The opposite of Manuel too. I'd love to have a manager like him on the Southside. southsider2k5
Probably the same reason that Gardenhire didn't wait 150 games to realize that he had to manage to win every single game.
DonkeyKongerko
It's funny because before the ASB and during parts of August, many Minny fans were calling for Gardy's head. Just goes to show you what winning will do. Thing is, if the Sox like JM so much, why don't they win a big series to give him some job security? Perhaps he realizes that at this point of the season, you don't need to give players "spot starts" to "keep them fresh." He's not an idiot like our clueless leader.
