5/24 - Indians (Tomlin) @ Sox (Sale) - 7:10 PM

Hope Tim Anderson's just 80-85% of the player that Lindor will be...man, he can play. He might be a better defender than a hitter, too.

So far, the Indians' veteran acquisitions of Uribe/Napoli/Byrd are basically pulling them even with Latos/Rollins/Avila/Navarro/Austin Jackson.

sale really had a hard time putting guys away tonight. Lots of contact, even if it was foul. Not a ton of swings and misses

You do realize he has been doing that all year right? His swings and misses rate is down and contact rate is up

Feels like this team is just so mentally fragile after the Rangers' game, bullpen comedy...and then again, last night's 1st game, even though the Sox won, it felt close to a loss psychologically.

Revenge of the ex-Sox tonight.

Uribe, Gimenez and even Paulo Orlando's 17 for his last 28.

Sale swore/lost his composure for the first time after those Ramirez and Uribe at-bats. You could just feel it coming after Ramirez walked on ten pitches...then the dam burst wide open.

The first game only felt like a loss to people on a message board. That was a good win.

And the Indians pull off the double steal...great job paying attention there.

How in the hell did Rajai Davis go 1st to 3rd there?

Just seems like the Indians want this game (and series) more than the White Sox. Hard to describe it any other way.

All the more disappointing in front of the home crowd that we're not defending it very well at all this season. 13-11 isn't going to get it done.

Significantly hampered his Cy Young chances today too. f*** f*** f*** f***

I'd be more worried about the overall state of this team than an award.

Explain that to those around in 2003 when the Twins very nearly came back and beat the White Sox, who had a huge lead earlier in a game...the infamous Jose Paniagua game.

The Twins, to my recollection, didn't lose to the White Sox again that year and cruised through September.

Despite those who don't believe in "momentum" in baseball, it exists. Even if you can't measure or quantify it.

Meh. Chris Sale is allowed a s*** game. And it's just one game. Blowing the historic streak is no more meaningful than any other loss, even if it hurts more on a sentimental level.

Avila, on the other hand, can go to hell. That laziness is unforgivable. Put that f***ing turd on the bench where he belongs.

Oh, and just to continue with my Saladino Derangement Syndrome, nice soft groundout to P with RISP, loser. Join AA on the bench.

Off to other things for my evening.

Just going off the eye test we look like the 3rd best team in the division right now. That is where this team will gravitate to in the standings until something changes.

Tigers are underrated on here. Sox don't match up well with them

Exactly. Even the best have clunkers occasionally, it's just annoying as hell knowing that the offense won't do anything to fight back to get back into this game.

Verlander's pitching MUCH better, more like in the second half last year.

They're ONLY 3 games back after tonight, barring a miracle comeback.

If JD Martinez and Justin Upton going again, you've got the best offense in the division, with Castellanos hitting this year, Kinsler, MIggy and Victor Martinez...they can pile up some runs.

They still have a lot of issues in that starting rotation, they're relying on a rookie in Fulmer, but if Daniel Norris can get back to 100% and Ilitch gives it one last go throwing all of his money at a team to desperately hold onto hope of another World Series appearance, anything's possible.
