Lip Man 1
Apparently Cooper or no one on the staff picked up on it. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs...p-some-pitches/ May explain why he's 'suddenly' doing well in San Francisco this season. Sounds like what happened with David Wells and Nick Swisher as soon as they left the organization. Mark
Kyyle23
David Wells hurt his back, it wasn't like he pitched the entire season and had a crappy season then went back to normal. He had a bad back from the get go Swisher was a whiny little b**** and pouted when he sucked. And that hasn't changed
southsider2k5
Nick Swisher was tipping his pitches? That is news to me.
Texsox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) Nick Swisher was tipping his pitches? That is news to me. I was thinking the same thing.
soxfan85
I thought this was old news. Coop didn't fix 'em. Also, when it ain't broke, don't fix it. Seems Coop's arrogance hurt his relationship with Shark. They f'd that one up. Edited May 26, 2016 by soxfan85

He had a bad back from the get go Swisher was a whiny little b**** and pouted when he sucked. And that hasn't changed Which has nothing to do with the fact that as soon as he got out of town he became an All Star with the Yankees if I remember right. At the very least he turned back into a pretty good hitter. And Wells did not have a bad back "from the get go" he hurt his back in June if I remember. If he did, that makes Williams an idiot for trading for him anyway doesn't it? Mark

Swisher may have had an all star season(got in on fan vote if I remember correctly)but when the Yankees needed him he turtled up and sucked in the playoffs. And Swisher still wasnt tipping pitches

Of course, the guy that Kenny traded for Wells (Mike Sirotka) was damaged goods and never pitched a game for Toronto. So it wasn't really much of a gamble for Kenny at all. caulfield12
That season was cursed as soon as Thomas went down anyway...started out 14-29 and battled back to get to .500. Featured a lot of young pitchers and Jose Canseco. The best thing Wells did for us was get us $4+ million in insurance compensation.

Sox do not have luck with veteran NL pitchers.
GreenSox
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 26, 2016 -> 10:41 AM) Coop didn't fix 'em. He hasn't fixed much of anything in ages. But Shark wasn't a guy who was supposed to need any fixing.
