SoCalSox
I keep seeing multiple people defend RV & say that the players are the ones to blame, or that Cooper makes the pen decisions. So, I want to ask... What does RV do well? Can someone name me one thing? To review: 2012- Collapsed down the stretch. 2013-2014- "rebuild years". 2015- Some projected this as a World Series contender, miserably fails out of the gate, finishes 76-86 & in 4th place. 2016- Gets off to a 23-10 start, blows a huge lead against Texas & is somehow 4-12 in their last 16 games & is now .5 game up in first w/ KC 1 back. Also is 2-4 vs Cle & 1-3 vs KC. Why shouldn't Ventura receive blame?

GreenSox
Keeps a happy Clubhouse. Willing to let Cooper can call the shots. Along with Cooper, a reliable dugout mole for the front office.
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) Players respect him True, because that is probably the most infuriating aspect of Fred Hoiberg's coaching. Underrated skill.

If you have ever read Lip's older post or on the other site he's on, rumor has it players like it here because there is no pressure. That's from an inside source. Lip Man 1
What Robin does well is be loyal to JR and a former Sox player so he's "family." That's what he does well and that's all that matters in the White Sox playbook. Mark

Buehrle>Wood
They'll hire a Hispanic manager with all the criticisms that MLB is getting for not having any. Sox seemingly want to make that a priority anyways and it makes some sense, although Sox have been getting less Hispanic compared to the last few years. Just hope it's not Joey Cora. Special K
At this point, I think we have another 3rd-4th place team on our hands gentlemen. Sorry to break it to ya. Robin is truly awful; he finally tried batting someone that isn't a black hole in the line up in the 2 hole, which did seem to give some life to the offense. But in the end, he's also stuck with the roster he was dealt, which consists of 3-4 black holes on offense (C, DH, SS, CF), and a weak back end of the rotation. In the words of Denny Green, "the Sox are, who We thought they are!!!"

harkness99
Ventura is hot garbage... He isn't the only reason the team is bad. It's not all on him... but he brings nothing to the table.

CWSpalehoseCWS
I think the way the Sox have handled the slump shows what Robin brings to the table. He has no ability to light a fire under his players when it's needed most. He's easily one of the worst managers in baseball. Give Renteria a shot. The Sox brought him in as Ventura's replacement anyways.
harkness99
The bull pen has been bad... but was also just ridiculous is how Robin keeps putting guys in the same situation and they just keep failing. It's just unbelievable. The things he tries just don't work. Maybe he is just the unluckiest manager in the world... or maybe it might be that he isn't a MLB manager.
