caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) Have you read the Paul Sullivan article? Maybe the least Positive remarks I have ever heard from a contending manager From Yost? He's one of the most positive managers in baseball, I would be shocked if he said anything negative about another manager. If it's not him, it's Banister with the Rangers. The Sir
QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2016 -> 02:16 PM) The at bats these AAA hitters for KC have had are ridiculous. Way tougher outs than our superstar 1B Abreu isn't a superstar. His game revolves around offense, and last year he had an .850 OPS and 3.7 oWAR. Before turning into a total sack of s*** this year, he was good but he wasn't a superstar.
EvilJester99
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) I don't think the team will be leaving the Reinsdorf family regardless of Jerry. I guess people could hope it turns into how the Wirtz family did.. But not likely. And of course Reinsdorf hasn't even been as close to bad as Bill Wirtz ever was

Y2HH
This team will self destruct 10 days ago. Call me a pessimist, but I've watched baseball long enough to know when a team is done. And with its current makeup, under its current management, this team is doneski.

caulfield12
Harrelson did say the clubhouse was the quietest after yesterday that he could remember. Well, after today...that's a Zombie Death Flight to NYC. Sorry, misinterpreted what Fathom wrote before reading the article. That's the one thing you almost never get out of either Hahn OR Ventura, any emotion at all. Sometimes it can be helpful, but not necessarily to act like a bird with its head in the sand ignoring everything going on around him.
fathom
QUOTE (Tony @ May 29, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) 13 ER runs from the bullpen in April. 14 ER from the pen this weekend. Troubling thing isn't just them blowing these leads, but they also have let the other team take the lead during their rally. Just don't seem very mentally tough
Jake
Baffling that you can look at this and think the manager is the problem. s***'s going bad and it is a clearly a very multi-faceted problem
Balta1701
QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 29, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) This team will self destruct 10 days ago. Call me a pessimist, but I've watched baseball long enough to know when a team is done. And with its current makeup, under its current management, this team is doneski. This team isn't this bad. They're playing "Braves level" right now, they're not nearly that bad. Teams are never as bad as they look when they're playing their worst. (But the converse should have been remembered in April). harkness99
QUOTE (Jake @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) Baffling that you can look at this and think the manager is the problem. s***'s going bad and it is a clearly a very multi-faceted problem There isn't one person who thinks it's just the manager. The manager is just one part of the problem... really don't see what it hurts to try something different. this team has been mentally weak for 4 years... they collapse in key moments - it's what they do. Balta1701
QUOTE (Jake @ May 29, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) Baffling that you can look at this and think the manager is the problem. s***'s going bad and it is a clearly a very multi-faceted problem One thing you do ask for your manager to do is handle personalities well enough that "When they get into a funk, and everyone is screwing up and failing, it doesn't expand to the whole team or they snap out of it quickly". That's where a "good manager for the people on the team" earns his money.
