caulfield12
Orioles just put up a 3 spot against Clevinger. White Sox could just as easily regain sole possession of 1st with a win today and an Indians' loss. Game is also MLB.TV Free Game of the Day...fwiw. soxfan49
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 29, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) Well if Sale reverts back to before the Indians game (CG beast) and the Sox score runs, I don't see why they can't win today. Not even Robin can f*** that up. My brother texted me yesterday saying "4-0 Sox." I responded "Rodon will have to go 8 or 9 or they will lose." That's essentially what it's come to. Unless the Sox SP goes 8 or 9 (hell, even 8 wouldn't have cut it yesterday), the bullpen and/or Robin has a great chance of f***ing it up. caulfield12
No way Eaton could have been safe there without a big enough lead...and just a so-so or average jump. Needs to be at least 11 feet off 1B. Has never really got his confidence (and technique) going 100% as a member of the Sox to consistently be a basestealer. Streaky, at best. I said this last year as well.....he just need to get a decent lead but for some reason he doesnt. Give credit to the catcher for a great throw. Anything less and Eaton is safe. caulfield12
If Abreu had practiced more with foul pop-ups around that dugout, he would have made that play pretty easily. Got caught up on the corner. But should have taken a slightly different angle to get around it and could have caught the ball without much effort.

Chicago White Sox
Horrific f***ing start. Sale giving up two runs in the 1st must feel like a gut punch to the offense.
pettie4sox
I think Sale had Merrifield struck out since he gave Volquez that pitch but it is what it is.
caulfield12
The version where the Royals hit .377 against Sale last year. Hosmer and Alex Gordon have the most hits against him of any LHB. To top it off, Volquez was 5-0 against the Sox with a mid 1's ERA last year. Great play by Austin Jackson and the earlier play by Saladino save it from being a 4-0 lead early. elrockinMT
Sale getting hit hard. Already 2-0 and could have been worse bytvAustin Jackson makes a great catch and they double runner off first
caulfield12
Now the question is whether the White Sox offense can get anything at all going against Volquez?? Because those were two great plays in one inning...sandwiching a pretty poor one by Abreu. Sale as a starter against KC..., .277 BAA, against the rest of the AL as a starter (even MN), only .218. Have won the season series every year from 2011-2015. Saladino, btw, with a great relay throw to get the runner at 1st. He has to be on that field instead of Rollins just for the sake of his defensive superiority. Edited May 29, 2016 by caulfield12
ronkark
5 years in and Eaton hasn't learned how to steal a base. Three years in and Abreu still a below WAR defender.. Sale not stopping damage. Game ovah. Robin not going anywhere. It's the players fault right? What about MOTIVATING change? Let's not pretend that's not paranoid leadership. It's a quality in most championship leaders. Does robin cost them games? Eh maybe. But he sure as hell doesn't win them any. Time for change
caulfield12
Abreu now 2/16 on the season against KC. And of course the Orioles are blowing their 4-0 lead against CLE as well. 4-3. Great! Edited May 29, 2016 by caulfield12
