greg775
It's amazing. The papers wanted an extension for Robin just 3 weeks ago. Now it's guillotine time. Fricking amazing. He needs to go. But I'll tell you what ... I'd rather have him than Buddy Bell. Cause I'm telling you, if Bell becomes interim, he will get an extension cause he'll enjoy being back in the dugout. greg775
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 30, 2016 -> 02:49 AM) Lamont, Bevington, Manuel, Ventura...who's the next scapegoat? I worshiped Ozzie and still do. But noooo ... the mouth that roared got him booted from town. He was a LEADER just too loud.
caulfield12
It will be Renteria THIS YEAR or nobody. Although somehow they might try to blame Thigpen as the bullpen coach... PITCHING MATCH-UPS for Sox this week Memorial Day (early start), Quintana vs. Harvey Tuesday, Latos vs. Matz Wednesday, Gonzalez vs. deGrom (uh-oh) Texas at CLE TB at KC Detroit at LAA

caulfield12
Not sure what conclusion to draw from that....two of the Top 10 players in baseball this year support Drake LaRoche? At the rate they're going, they might have to bring him or Adam back, lol.
Baron
That's the normal routine. Devin Hester was crying after Lovie got fired. They wont talk about what was really going on until that manager has been gone for a while. Then the finger pointing starts.
kitekrazy
QUOTE (Baron @ May 29, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) That's the normal routine. Devin Hester was crying after Lovie got fired. They wont talk about what was really going on until that manager has been gone for a while. Then the finger pointing starts. Then they remain silent after that. No organization wants a complainer. southsider2k5
Sale is right. "I don't think he gave up any runs," Sale said after Sunday's loss to the Royals. "I don't think he made any errors. He was in the dugout the whole time. It's up to us to win games. I understand that people, and I'll keep it at that, want to point fingers and find someone to blame. "But at the end of the day, it falls on the players. We've got to find a way to turn it around. ... It's on us. He had some things for us. It was encouraging and uplifting and we're just going to keep fighting. That's all you can do. It'll turn. We have too good of guys in here. Too much chemistry. And quite honestly, too much talent. Just a rough patch."
elrockinMT
I applaud Sale for his comments. I don't think any player on the Sox doesn't understand the situation and the vagaries of this game. They are supportive of their manager and that says a lot for Ventura. I now there have been teams where that wasn't so. We are in a slump and obviously struggling especially that bullpen. It hasn't been pretty and certainly folks are upset. I am guessing the manager and players are even more upset. This is a society of finger pointers and complainers , who are too wrapped up in the blame game. We see it way to often on this site. Unrealistic expectations rule too often. At times like this you band together and be supportive not rip things apart. This team is too talented not to turn things around. The season is long and at this time we are just one game out. It will be a dog fight to the end in my opinion.
Bigsoxhurt35
*facepalm* there's no defending him. He has to put his players in the best position to succeed and he doesn't. He makes mind boggling decisions and is managing like George Costanza in Seinfeld when he's trying to get canned. Robin sucks. The real manager is the bench coach. harkness99
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) Sale is right. What has Ventura done to keep his job? Sale is saying what he should say... who knows what any of them really think.
Y2Jimmy0
Renter will be interim if the slide continues. I think Sandy Alomar Jr is the manager next year though

Texsox
Managers receive too much blame and too much credit. Every year about 30 managers deserve to be fired.
