Buehrle>Wood
Select Mets game thread posts: And now The Mets will walk to him, and they will battle the White Sox to the death. Orange and blue. Black and white. Fight night. The weakest gladiator match in the history of baseball: Bad team versus worse team; ugh versus meh; Sox of Black versus Mess of Queens! If you described this game to someone, they'd assume the Mets were trying to lose on purpose. "Yeah they walked 12 times. Hm? No, they didn't score on any of them. Then the Sox had a relief pitcher bat, which was crazy. What? Yeah, he got an opposite field double on the straightest fastball you've ever seen and ended up scoring. Yes, I'm talking about a real life MLB team why would you even ask that." This gigantic motherf***er is gonna score the winning run. Unbelievable. That was like watching a defensive lineman pick up a fumble and run it 40 yards for a TD. pathetic. double by john candy's corpse And the POTD We just got the reverse Bartolo. Green Line
Great way to start off June. This team can win the division. It was a horrible, horrible May but we're not out of it yet, despite Robins best efforts otherwise.
caulfield12
First series win since early May (MN at home), last road series win was all the way back in April at Toronto. Albers to DH in Detroit for Garcia against Zimmerman Friday? Albers, hitting LHed, absolutely killed that ball into the gap. Then he was still barely safe at 2B and almost overran it with so much "momentum" behind him. Edited June 1, 2016 by caulfield12
bmags
All of those mets fans quotes were great. I would feel same way they did (except the worse team part).

fathom
Nice to find out lefty power bat. More importantly, great to see two of the guys slumping the most produce the winning run

I don't know, the mets announcers on Bartolo's home run were so funny. Loved Albers hit though.
SCCWS
QUOTE (Green Line @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) Great way to start off June. This team can win the division. It was a horrible, horrible May but we're not out of it yet, despite Robins best efforts otherwise. Robin did a great job w the bullpen today. 8 scoreless innings. Also great call letting Albers hit rather than pinch hit or even pinch run for him .

Dick Allen
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) Robin did a great job w the bullpen today. 8 scoreless innings. Also great call letting Albers hit rather than pinch hit or even pinch run for him . All the Robin talk and the franchise being in trouble was laughable. If the bullpen was just bad in KC instead of horrible, the Sox sweep and are 10 over right now in first place. 2 huge wins. They are just as close to being 6-0 on this trip as 0-6. The dreaded lead off walk wasn't so dreaded today. Hopefully they can get on a roll for a bit here. Need to have Abreu start hitting. He needs to try something different, maybe back off the plate a bit.
Lip Man 1
I don't know what to make of this one today...you walk that many guys you should have your brains beat out...somehow the Sox didn't let it happen. Really happy for the bullpen though, they did what they needed to do to get the job done. Offense though is still "less than stellar..." Now on to Detroit, they have their top pitchers lined up...we'll see. One thing is clear, if the Sox don't start beating someone other than the Twins in their division, they aren't going anywhere in October. (Well maybe the golf course...)
