soxfan49
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) We are just a grand slam away from the lead And we're just 3 new players and a real hitting coach away from being able to generate a bases loaded situation

Duh.
flavum
I hope it doesn't happen, but it could...if the Sox lose today and the first two against the Nationals, they'll go from 13 over .500 to under .500 in exactly 30 days.

"In all my 60 years in this game I've never seen one guy totally transform a defense quite like Austin has." Now if only he could do the same offensively and in the bullpen. Chicago White Sox
How can anyone actually still support Ventura at this point? We're about to be 0-9 against divisional opponents in our last 9 games. I'm sorry, but that shouldn't be acceptable to any organization. Time for a change and that change better come tomorrow. We can't afford to wait another series. elrockinMT
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) That's true for every manager/coach fire in the history of sports dealing with on field struggles. We've seen this Sox team suck far too often under Ventura. There's absolutely no harm in going in a new direction. Ok but on the other hand the manager gets canned when a team favored to win finds itsekfvin the cellar. The Sox are not in that predicament. Keep battling and things will come around. There is a lot of baseball left. we hVe added Shields and I am guessing we will add ons or two more to help

But to actively support Ventura staying is bonkers. The way I see it, the White Sox are ran like a country club. A bunch of friends hanging out and win or loss it doesn't matter because they are all making money and having fun together. Robin is a great friend to Kenny and JR loves his former players. We all know if Robin was an outside hire, he would have been fired during or after last season. When 90% of your fanbase want Robin fired and once again the team continues to fail in big divisional games, and once again you maintain him as your manager-- that's a HUGE problem. And honestly, there's absolutely no downside to firing him right now. Maybe canning him does nothing, but there's nothing to lose at this point and plenty to gain if it does wake this team up. Nothing like hearing the sounds of an individual desperate for offense. We have already pretty much scored our limit. One more run if we are lucky. This offense puts way too much damn pressure on our Starters. It was bound to break eventually. Our staff has to pretty much be perfect.
