Bachelor party disappointment

Hey guys,... I feel real ashamed to feel this way, but my bachelor party was yesterday and I'm kinda disappointed with it. :(

Don't get me wrong, my best man put in a lot of effort into organizing this, and I really do appreciate it. He planned it so that it would be 8 of us (me, him, the 6 groomsmen, and his friend) for a white sox game with the patio party package and upper deck seats. It ended up being $45 per person and we had numerous cancellations and backups cancelling as well and even a cancellation the night before at 11pm. We couldn't find anyone so I ended up bringing my kids with and paying $135 while everyone else spent $45 (I was too nice to say anything about it).

Anyway, I did have a great time, enjoyed spending time with my friends and kids and I will always cherish the memory.

But I would not have planned a white sox game for a bachelor party. For a birthday or graduation party, sure.

I honestly just really wanted strippers. :( Would've been totally fine with going to Club O and and just chilled and not drink alcohol. I feel like bachelor parties = strippers and it kinda bums me out that my one bachelor party didn't have strippers involved.

I feel horrible to feel this way, like i'm a bad friend or something, so that's why I'm posting this on here because I can still maintain a level of anonymity without posting something like this on facebook.

Ill be honest strippers are the last thing I want at my bachelor party. When the time comes that's going to be a hard cut off from me. I'd do Vegas, any clubs, whatever, but no strippers.

Yeah, ESPNzone was still around when I had mine, and that was where most of it was. The end of the night at the strip club was the worst part of the night.

I didn't really get one, as half my wedding party was out of town until the night before. My brother and I went out with a few friends the weekend before, but didn't want strippers. Now I have BEEN to some with strippers, and I certainly had fun, but not sure I would have wanted to be the groom-to-be at those.

I am kind of surprised that you would want strippers for the party that bad. Strippers were the furthest thing from my mind leading up to the wedding. If we would have went to a strip club for my BP I would have had the mindset like get that s*** out of my face I have to work tomorrow to pay for this wedding. I guess its all based on the individual tho. Sorry yours sucked dude.

I didn't even have a bachelor party. We had the rehearsal dinner, then got married the next day.

Strip clubs are so cliche'.

I personally just never had an interest in looking at naked women the night before I was with my wife. It felt like a bit of a betrayal.

Same here for all of this.

If you really felt that way, in the future best thing to do is let your best man know. I'm sure he really wanted you to have a good time, and knew you like sox so chose this. People can think that their friends can read their mind or are picking up hints, but it's so hard to plan for someone else. There's obviously over planning, but it's always better to overcommunicate in those situations.

Hopefully he won't have another wedding in the future ;)

That is pretty lame for a bachelor party and that'd be so even without the last minute cancellations. I has mine a few months ago and we did the strip club thing, wasn't the main focus of the night but was fun.

I mean if you still have time before your wedding why not get a couple friends together and hit up a gentlemen's club?

My buddies hired a driver and rented a van stocked with booze for my bachelor party. We hit about a half dozen strip clubs, easy, on the way to a rented out bar where they had hired even more strippers.

'Twas glorious.

And best part was my wife signed off on the whole thing. :headbang

Sorry that fell apart a bit, always a struggle to plan that stuff out. I had a whole weekend planned for my brother's BP, Navy Pier dinner cruise on Friday then Milwaukee on Saturday for beer tours, german dinner and bars on water street. Unfortunately, my brother's 2 out of town friends cancelled so it was just 4 of us on the dinner cruise and just me and him in Milwaukee. Felt terrible for him. Also sucked because I ended up paying close to a grand to cover everything since I didn't want my brother to pay.

While it may have been a good idea to bring it up to your friend, it's really key for the best man to know exactly what the guy wants. I knew casinos and strip clubs weren't an option, and my brother isn't a big club guy, but he loves beer tours and such so we did that. Me, I hate clubs but love casinos, my dream bachelor party is renting out a cabin somewhere on a lake, getting trashed/swimming/relaxing for a weekend with a casino nearby or on the way to get some gambling in as well. Don't really want strippers at all.

I completely agree with those not wanting strippers. When I do get married, I want nothing to do with strippers at my bachelor party and my brother knows that. My plan is to go to New Orleans with all my buddies, so I'm sure we will end up at some cabaret, but I'm not actively seeking it.

I know what greg is talking about it. I've been to several bachelor parties where the bachelor has been whipped by a stripper and humiliated. For my party, that was my one major no. I said we can go to a strip club, but there is now way at all that I am getting thrown up on stage.

I don't think there's any set way a bachelor party is supposed to be. When I was in NOLA a few years back we went to a strip club every night we were there but I've also done the party bus and baseball game route, bar crawl, etc. This upcoming weekend we're just doing golf, bar crawl and renting a pontoon for the weekend. And I'm sure when I go back to NOLA in August we'll be back at the strip clubs almost every day. As long as you had a good time I wouldn't worry about what you think you should be doing.
