GreenSox
Michael Ynoa was Rule 5 eligible and your basic top prospect flop when the Sox acquired him. He had no trade value. The Sox have amassed relievers like this over the years. They acquired 3 or so this offseason alone. They have fixed a couple over the years ....hopefully Ynoa is #3. But he was no prized piece in the sense that he had trade value when acquired. Semien has 12 homers this year. Hopefully Ynoa and #26 come through. caulfield12
Ynoa only had value from a PR sense to fans, to make them believe he's this stud prospect. Only because of how much money he originally signed for coming out of the DR, it set the all-time record at the time, since eclipsed. There's no way anyone here is going to believe that deal doesn't get done if a POTENTIAL reliever isn't included in a huge deal like that. It's preposterous. The reason I brought up Adkins is because KW also tried to convince everyone Adkins had this great potential, when his ERA in Sacramento at that time was around 7 or something like that. Obviously, he didn't or couldn't say Adkins was the best scrub he could come up with and that his fastball was straight as an arrow, so he had to pull a Buddy Bell.
