With where his career has gone I'm also not surprised he's pushing the limits. Getting old doesn't seem like it will sit well with him.

So, Mirotic with a nice march again.

Not a surprise that Butler is looking fantastic the past couple nights where he has a couple guys who can stretch the court (Niko & Zipser). Zipser isn't even great at it, but it certainly helps. Butler has had 10 or more assists in each of the past three contests for what I believe is the first time in his career. The bench is terrible, but this starting lineup has produced (albeit in a limited sample size).

So are the Cavs going to make it out of the east? They're pretty terrible on defense.

2nd worst defense in the nba since the all-star break and 22nd overall. LeBron gets the benefit of the doubt as he's made the finals every year since the decision. But this is looking like it's going to be A LOT more difficult than it's been for any of his teams during this run.

Eh, I don't know. Then Lebron turns into a center fielder roaming the defense and wreaking havoc in passing lanes and blocking shots and suddenly teams can't score. Maybe this is the year he falls off but I'm not betting on it.

It's hard, cavs have been working on the art of winning enough in the regular season. Lakers in early 2000s did this but it did eventually catch up to them, when they couldn't turn it on anymore.

I just hope we get Wizards/Cavs at some point. LeBron wouldn't even be the show in that one. Wall/Irving for a potential 7 games is box office.

Denver played Portland last night. Nurkic has been killing it since the trade. Gary Harris looks like he could be a 20 point scorer someday.

What about Cam Payne

Jusuf's line since trade: 15.0/10.4/3.3/1.2/1.9 That's in just over 29 MPG. Gary Harris would be a 20 point scorer right now on a lot of teams. It's just that Denver is loaded with scorers, especially at wing/guard.

I don't see that, at least for now. But agreed in principle that the dude could score, and efficiently. Him and Butler would have been a good combo.

Question is I had is would we still have selected those two had we not decided to trade with Denver? Did Denver scouts see something in those guys or was it our scouts?

I think it's as simple as they needed a shooter and just fell in love with the idea of McDermott despite the concerns with him.

Yep. And, if I remember right, the Bulls had a shortage of roster spots at that time.

I can see the mindset that led to the Bulls making that pick. It obviously backfired terribly, but I get why it happened.

Ya, good call on that too.

I was never a fan of the trade and never wanted Doug but I at least understood their thought process.

This talks about league sources saying Butler is "as good as gone" this offseason.

I'll believe it when I see it. Same stuff was said about Melo a few years ago.

Can't wait to see how many negative PER players we could get for Butler from our crack front office.

Keeping him doesn't make any sense so I'm just going to hope that they actually do the right thing. Wait until about a year from now when Butler requests a trade out of here and then he really has no value at all.

Keeping Gar/Pax makes no sense either. Not a good mix all around.
