Why hasn't Ventura taken Gonzalez out of the game? Does he really think that the team can rally to win the day from this far behind?

The bullpen is severely taxed. Use a relief pitcher early and it can affect you fir a long time down the road

Robin wants give away more runs to the Jays so the Sox offense can keep fighting back. Makes it more interesting for the fans. Keeps the games going longer. Sells more concessions.

No I don't think it is unwinnable. But, I understand we aren't using pitching machines out there and we have lots of games left to play

problem is, as we've found "a strike" varies. Having a good framing catcher helps, alot.

Granted but when you throw strikes you are more apt to get close pitches

re: Lawrie's first HR

A ball that hits the yellow part of the fence is not an automatic HR? I thought it was

In this ballpark the yellow line is just there to provide a color contrast so that umps can see if a ball flies over the fence or not. The ball must actually clear the fence in this ballpark. Other places with the "Big vertical walls" use the yellow line differently and will have above it be out of the park.

I like the look of beck. He needs to keep refining his command. But he has very good tools to be a Relief pitcher. Then once he has establishes himself he will get those close calls that are going the other way right now for him.

But he has a very good fastball and good secondary pitches.

I like him and Ynoa as future guys here. Add in Purdi when he gets here and that is 3 young looking kids that could be very good in the pen.
