GGajewski18
Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 4m4 minutes ago Bolingbrook, IL Matt Davidson not in the Charlotte lineup tonight. The White Sox won't go with two bench position players available for long.
Quin
If he can hit better than Avi, I'm down. Gives us flexibility with Frazier and Abreu.
Whisox05
Was told today that Matt Davidson was knocking on the door and could be called up soon by the White Sox. FYI. https://t.co/brvy6mEYaY https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/748308877402382337
flavum
Good for Davidson. It didn't look good that he would get back to the big leagues. Hope he makes the most of it.
Whisox05
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 07:13 PM) If he can hit better than Avi, I'm down. Gives us flexibility with Frazier and Abreu. Hate to say but davidson could be putting up Frazier numbers with the power and low average and be better then avi
elrockinMT
I am anxious to see him. Coats going down maybe
caulfield12
Rick Hahn really pulling out all the stops...or putting nails in his own coffin. Pretty difficult for Hahn not to be (especially) personally invested in Davidson's numbers, since he and Avi were once touted as key additions to the young core of pitching going forward. Y2Jimmy0
I would imagine that Purke goes down. I'd call up Davidson and Bourgeios or Leury and send Avi down too.

Rowand44
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) Absolutely rooting like hell for this kid. For sure. I don't have high hopes to be honest but he can't be worse than some of the crap we've been running out there. Lets give it a shot.
jenksycat
Not really any possible way for him to be worse than 70% of our s*** lineup so why not
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) I would imagine that Purke goes down. I'd call up Davidson and Bourgeios or Leury and send Avi down too. Yeah, Bourgeios/Leury definitely deserve a shot this year too, mainly the former
Jose Abreu
I expect strikeouts, and lots of them, but hope he's successful nonetheless

Bigsoxhurt35
@CST_soxvan Purke optioned. Corresponding move tomorrow.
mataipaepae
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) @CST_soxvan Purke optioned. Corresponding move tomorrow. If Davidson comes up and hits, I wonder if he could learn a corner outfield spot? he does have a big arm and is fairly athletic.

Bigsoxhurt35
@scotgregor #WhiteSox option reliever Matt Purke to Class AAA Charlotte. Opens door for 3B/1B/DH Matt Davidson to join club tomorrow

CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Davidson should be comfortable coming up now with Anderson here and doing well. Make it a healthy competition.
greg775
OK get rid of Lawrie and it'll be Davidson at third, Anderson at short, Saladino at second and Frazier DH. That's a start. Saladino and Davidson and Anderson have a fighting chance.
caulfield12
Greg, did Alton from Midnight Special just mesmerize you with a blinding white light? Coats/Shuck/Garcia deserve scorn before any is aimed at Lawrie. He's been pretty decent. He's definitely not the primary reason we're not above a .500 club. lasttriptotulsa
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 01:33 AM) OK get rid of Lawrie and it'll be Davidson at third, Anderson at short, Saladino at second and Frazier DH. That's a start. Saladino and Davidson and Anderson have a fighting chance. Yes, get rid of Lawrie. Brilliant idea. It's not like he's second in fWAR among our position players or the hottest hitter on the team right now or anything. But yes, let's get rid of him so we can play Matt Davidson and Tyler Saladino.
