ChiSox59
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Holding onto Rodon is lose-lose. You wait and wait for him to be a cheap great pitcher, and then by that time he's a near-lock to leave since he's w/ Boras Other scenario: he doesnt become good. Interesting theory. You don't trade a pitcher with ace potential and 5.5 years of control that is dirt cheap for 2.5 more years, just because one day he is going to leave via free agency. daggins
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) Here's an interesting trade idea: Carlos Rodon to the Rockies for OF David Dahl. Dahl is a good start, but it would probably take an additional t5-10 guy to get Rodon.
daggins
Something like Dahl, Ramiel Tapia and Kyle Freeland. In a total rebuild, i'd do that trade.
Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 10m10 minutes ago Chicago, IL Buster Olney just said on ESPN Radio the White Sox should sell high with Quintana to the BoSox and that they'd def overpay #Benintendi So has this thread turned into a catch all for major trades out? caulfield12
Santana was very impressive today, raising his stock. Gray wasn't bad either, although he took the loss. Has gradually pushed his ERA down into the low 5's, and was consistently in the 93-95 MPH range. That said, he's not going to get the king's ransom he would have last year on the trade market. FT35
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Boy, if you could land both of those guys for Quintana, I don't know how you pass that up. The more you read about Moncada, it looks like he is on his way to superstardom. He's a top ten player on just about every top prospect list out there. Huge offensive potential which, the last I looked, that was an attribute sorely missing with the Sox for some time now. The other guy, Benintendi, is also a blue chip prospect with vast offensive potential. You add both of those guys to an offensive core featuring Abreu, Eaton, and now Anderson as well, and that's not looking too shabby from a long term perspective. And then there's Zach Collins looming in the not so distant future, too. So I don't know. Trading Quintana obviously signals a different direction than it would appear the Sox want to go. But maybe in a couple of weeks facts on the ground will dictate a different path they made need to travel. Wasn't he talking about these guys for Sale instead of Quintana? Boopa1219
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) Buster said that the White Sox should listen because Dombrowski will overpay with the pressure on Boston to win. He did say that he wouldn't necessarily trade him though. He mentioned Moncada and Benintendi. I would want back Moncoda for sure in addition to either Benintendi and Espinoza and a couple other low level guys.
caulfield12
Moncada...but I think we'll be hearing that name soon enough in connection with Boston's big league team. The main question remaining is where will he play? 3B? DH? corner OF? Edited July 7, 2016 by caulfield12
