soxfan85
Trying not to get to optimistic here...but it feels great to win and we do play Cleveland 10 more times...hopefully, just hopefully, we can start beating AL Central Teams (other than just beating the Twins) in the second half Edited July 7, 2016 by soxfan85
Chicago White Sox
Great start for Gonzalez! He's pitched much better than his numbers indicate.

They are competitive against everybody else. There's enough of a sample size to say that. Like you said ... hopefully the Central Division thing will turn around. I don't see it happening, but Sox are definitely an outstanding team outside of the Central.

Lip Man 1
Nice to see that kind of pitching out of one of the backend guys in the rotation. Mark Edited July 7, 2016 by Lip Man

OmarComing25
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) stupid unbalanced schedule. I know every team has games they wish they could get back, but if the Sox bullpen just pitches badly instead of historically awful in that one Royals series (I believe every game had at least a 90% win probability at one point) then the Sox are 5-4 against KC and just like the Tigers we'd be talking about the Indians as the only problem team. OmarComing25
I also don't get the comparisons to last year that a lot of posters are making. Last year's team spent all of one day over .500, and their one good stretch came against two bad teams, and once they started playing good competition again they wilted. We've already seen this team play well for multiple stretches, and with a couple exceptions they've played well against good competition. Swingandalongonetoleft
Well done. I didn't even feel like the replay towards the end would 100% somehow cause things to end badly for the Sox like I might have at certain points of the season. Looking forward to catching a game over the weekend.

Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) I also don't get the comparisons to last year that a lot of posters are making. We've already seen this team play well for multiple stretches, and with a couple exceptions they've played well against good competition. Last years team sucked from the beginning. Had a nice albeit fraudulent winning streak around the all star break IIRC then they stood pat and the team was done. This year they're different in a lot of ways. Started out hot. Slumped badly but have pulled themselves out of it to back over .500. No way last years team does this. I'm proud of this team. They never give up and fight through injuries. I just hope Hahn can get creative enough to land a Lucroy type bat and a Vizcaino type reliver. Maybe even a Rzep from the As to a lesser degree. Let's kick the braves ass and go the break on a 4 game win streak, regroup and come out firing.

It's incredible. Sox are a great great team except for KC, Detroit and Cleveland. Just mind boggling. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 04:37 AM) stupid unbalanced schedule. I hate it as well. Those Central teams scout the hell out of us. If we do manage to hit the ball (they know how to get our guys out with those sliders and out of zone breaking balls) we hit it right at somebody. Meanwhile, they tee off on our pitchers like they know whats coming. They probably have stolen all our signals. We could have met the Cubs in the WS if we knew how to play teams in our division not named Minniehaha.
