Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Technically, it would have been a tie with the Tigers. At this point, 2nd-4th are meaningless in the division...it's all about wild card positioning. Still need to get ahead of them regardless
caulfield12
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) Beck is literally your garbage man. Albers or even Jennings makes more sense. Or Ynoa...
Bigsoxhurt35
I mean we can knock the scouts all you want but they weren't missing location and giving up the hits and runs. That was ALL Sale.

The Sir
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Pretty much agree. I honestly think it's all mental with him. His ability and talent is second to none. Yeah, I do think you're right that it's mental. Just compare his game logs with some of those other guys. Bumgarner has given up four ERs twice this year. In one other start, he only went five innings. Beyond that, it's complete dominance. We need to ditch that whole "Sale is best LHP outside of Kershaw"- it's offensive. YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
I think I'm even more disappointed with this game considering who the opponent is. If he would've given up 8 to Boston, Baltimore, or Toronto, fine. It would suck, but I'd get over it. But the Braves? Good lord.

Postseason stats are obviously in his favor though.

Don't think the Astros lose two in a row to Oakland at home. 6-3 Houston now in the middle innings.
flavum
A 7-run inning would be nice. Do that.
caulfield12
Realistically, who's the next man in to replace Beck? Kahnle again? Purke? Carroll? Turner? The pickings are pretty slim. Of all those names, would like to see Kahnle get a chance to find some footing pitching in mop-up/blowout situations with no pressure. Can just relax and throw the ball in the general direction of the plate.

flavum
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) Fulmer. I think that would be bad, but who the hell knows. The Sox are grasping for something they'll probably never even touch. Rangers, Indians, Orioles, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Astros. 6 teams for 5 spots. Would be surprised if that changes.
